Scholarships for Students in Nebraska

This scholarship is for residents of the Heartland Foundation service region, which includes the following counties:

• In Missouri - Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Caldwell, Carroll, Clay, Clinton, Daviess, DeKalb, Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Holt, Livingston, Mercer, Nodaway, Platte, Ray, and Worth
• In Iowa - Decatur, Fremont, Page, Ringgold, and Taylor
• In Kansas - Atchison, Brown, Doniphan, and Nemaha
• In Nebraska - Nemaha and Richardson

To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be accepted and enrolled in 12 hours of study for a regular semester or equivalent full-time status in an approved nursing or health care-related program. Students enrolled in a pre-health program are not eligible.

 

Applicant must be a resident of Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Wisconsin, or North Dakota. Minimum 3.4 GPA and combined SAT Reasoning score of 1090 (composite ACT score of 25) required. Applicant must be majoring in one of the majors listed on sponsor's application page.

Applicant must be the child or grandchild of a member of the American Legion or of a POW, MIA, KIA, or any deceased veteran, be a Nebraska resident, and attend a Nebraska institution of higher education.

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Nebraska high school who will pursue post-secondary education in a water resources related field.

Applicants must be working toward a degree in one of the following fields: animal science, animal nutrition, dairy science, poultry science, equine/equestrian science, agriculture, agricultural science, agricultural business management, economics, finance or marketing and sales. Applicants must attend college in and be residents of one of the following states: Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia or West Virginia. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

Applicant must be a winner of the Nebraska Department Oratorical Contest.

Applicant must be a resident of Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, or Wisconsin.

Applicant must be a National Merit Finalist who has designated University of Nebraska Medical Center as his or her first-choice institution when completing the scholarship application. Applicants may change their top-choice selection by logging onto the Online Scholarship Application (OSA) website. Applicant must take the PSAT/NMSQT in the specified year of the high school program and no later than the third year in grades 9 through 12. Applicant must also be a citizen of the United States or be a U.S. lawful permanent resident.

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from Nebraska who is registered at Blessed Sacrament Church in Grand Island, NE.

Applicants must be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate at an accredited two- or four-year college or university. Applicants must be studying engineering and/or science at their chosen school. Applicants must have permanent residence in the NACE Central Area which includes the following states: Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

There are six scholarships given to Nebraska high school seniors including those who plan to study geology, earth sciences, prairie and soil conservation, climate and environmental change and business and the environment.

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Phelps County high school who will enroll full-time in the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Financial need and minimum 3.0 GPA required.

Applicant must be an incoming freshman from Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Kansas, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Missouri, Iowa, Oklahoma, North Dakota, or South Dakota. Minimum 3.0 GPA and minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1650 (composite ACT score of 23) required.

Applicant must be a graduate or graduating senior from Holdrege High School who will pursue education in the Arts and Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln full-time. Financial need and minimum 3.5 GPA required.

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Nebraska high school whose parent or guardian is an employee of Kriz-Davis Co.

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Doniphan-Trumbull High School in Nebraska. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

Applicants must be current FFA members and high school seniors or college students planning to enroll or currently enrolled full-time. Students must be pursuing a four-year degree in one of the following agricultural fields: business management, economics, sales and marketing or finance. They must be residents of California, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota or Texas. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Students only need to complete the online application one time to be considered for all FFA-administered scholarships. The application requires information about the student's activities and a 1,000-word essay. Awards may be used for books, supplies, tuition, fees and room and board.

Applicant must be a woman who is a graduate of a Nebraska high school. Application, essay, high school transcript, and three letters of recommendation required.

Applicants must be attending a private college in Nebraska and must be in their junior or senior year. Applicants may not apply if the scholarship money is to be used for summer programs or schools that are not valid degree-granting institutions.
