American Legion Auxiliary Department of Nebraska Nursing Scholarship

This $500 scholarship supports Nebraska residents enrolled in a four-year healthcare professional program who have a connection to a U.S. Veteran.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Be a Nebraska resident
• Be enrolled in a four-year healthcare professional program
• Have a Veteran connection (parent, grandparent, or great-grandparent who served in the U.S. military)

Application Process: Complete the three-page application packet, including a narrative explaining your field of study and why you chose it. Submit two recommendation letters, a resume listing activities and community service, a letter of acceptance from your school, and a certified transcript. Applications must be submitted to your local American Legion Auxiliary Unit postmarked by March 1.

Deadline: March 1

Additional Information: The local Auxiliary Unit selects one applicant to advance to the state level by March 15. Scholarship funds must be used within the award year and will not be released after January 1 of the following year.
