Scholarships for Students in Michigan

The $500.00 grant is to apply toward the expense of tuition, room and board fees, books and supplies necessary for pursuit of study at any school, college, or other education institution in the State of Michigan.

Michigan Nurses Foundation advance nursing and nursing education by awarding scholarships and research grants and by providing financial aid for the treatment of recovering nurses. 

The applicant must be a student currently enrolled in a Michigan college/school of nursing that grants a certificate for practical nursing or an associate, baccalaureate or higher degree in nursing.

 

Applicant must be a graduate or graduating senior of a Montana high school who will attend the University of Michigan or Harvard College. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and a Michigan resident, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a minimum composite ACT score of 26, and demonstrate intent to enter the engineering field after graduation. Selection is based upon high school record, extracurricular activities, essay, recommendations, and evidence of leadership, character, and self-reliance.

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, an undergraduate or graduate student in good standing enrolled in at least six semester credits currently enrolled in, or have received a degree from, a college or university within Wisconsin or upper peninsula of Michigan. Applicant must have demonstrated leadership and significant service to their campus community.

Applicant must be a graduate of Bay City Central or John Glenn High School who will attend a public college or university in Michigan full-time.

Applicant must have been a resident of Kent, Allegan, Ottawa, or Muskegon, Mich., counties for at least three years, or be a resident student at a public college in the West Michigan, area for at least two years. Recipient must study abroad through any accredited college/university specified, with major in accounting, business administration, economics, managerial science, and mathmatics, witha minimum 3.0 GPA. selection basis includes financial need.

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Bay County, MI who will attend a post-secondary institution in Michigan full-time. Financial need and minimum 2.75 GPA required.

Applicant must be a resident of Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Wisconsin, or North Dakota. Minimum 3.4 GPA and combined SAT Reasoning score of 1090 (composite ACT score of 25) required. Applicant must be majoring in one of the majors listed on sponsor's application page.

Applicant must be a law student at the Michigan State University College of Law. Minimum 155 LSAT score and 3.5 GPA required. There is no separate application. All law school candidates are considered.

Applicant must be an Osceola County high school graduate who plans to attend Michigan State University. Applicant must participate in community/volunteer service and demonstrate involvement in extracurricular activities.

Applicant must be a resident of Michigan who ranks in the top quarter of their graduating class, is planning to attend a Michigan school, and who is the child, grandchild, or great-grandchild of an American Legion member or of someone eligible to be a member. Selection is based upon academic ability, financial need, degree of interest in the area of study, and three letters of recommendation.

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and a Michigan resident, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a minimum composite ACT score of 26, and demonstrate intent to enter the engineering field after graduation. Selection is based upon high school record, extracurricular activities, essay, recommendations, and evidence of leadership, character, and self-reliance.

Applicant must be a graduate student at a college or university in Michigan, and have been a resident of Kent County, Mich. for at least five years. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and demonstrate financial need. Selection is based upon academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and a personal statement.

Applicant must be a high school senior residing in Kent County, MI, who is pursuing an undergraduate degree in a construction-related field of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or trade school in Michigan. Financial need is required.

Applicant must be a student with a disability or chronic health condition at one of the following high schools: Huron High School, Washtenaw Community College, or the University of Michigan.

Applicants must be sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate or graduate students in natural or applied science, engineering or mathematics at Brown University, Colorado School of Mines, Clemson University, Florida Institute of Technology, Georgia Institute of Technology, Harvey Mudd College, Johns Hopkins University, Louisiana State University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Miami University, North Carolina State University, North Dakota State University, Ohio State, Pennsylvania State University, Purdue University, Syracuse University, Texas A&M University, Tufts University, University of Arizona, University of Central Florida, University of Chicago, University of Colorado, University of Kansas, University of Kentucky, University of Minnesota, University of Michigan, University of Oklahoma, University of Rochester, University of Southern California, University of Texas at Austin, University of Virginia, University of Washington, University of Wisconsin or Washington University and must be nominated by faculty or staff. Applicants may not directly apply for the scholarship. Students must have excellent grades and performed research or lab work in their field.

Applicant must be a National Merit Scholar who listed Michigan State University as their first choice with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

Applicant must be a woman between the ages of 16 and 21 who is a Michigan resident attending or planning to attend a Michigan school and who is the daughter, granddaughter, or great-granddaughter of an American Legion Member or of someone who is eligible for American Legion membership. Selection is based upon transcripts, letters of recommendation, and financial need.
