Scholarships for Students in Texas

Annual awards for residents of Hansford, Hemphill, Hutchinson, Lipscomb, Ochiltree, or Roberts counties, Texas who are graduating high school seniors and will be enrolling in a college/university pursuing studies in Nursing or Medical School. Award amount and number of awards may vary. Nonrenewable. 

These scholarships are available to full-time student in selected regions of the U.S. Eligibility is determined by applicant's school/college of nursing's zip code.

Applicants must be a resident of Texas and  must be currently working or planning to work following graduation in the Texas healthcare system.Students must be pursuing an LVN, Diploma, ADN, BSN, MSN, PhD, DSN, or DNP degree Scholarship and applications are accepted three times each year.

This scholarship open to all students attending accredited nursing program in selected regions such as Louisiana, Maryland, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Washington.

The American Legion Auxiliary, Department of Texas awards scholarship to a resident of Texas, child or grandchild of a Veteran who served in the Armed Forces during eligibility dates for membership in the American Legion.

Applicants must be high school students who participate in the San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo as part of a 4-H, FFA or FHA program. Students must plan to attend an accredited Texas university, college or technical school. Selection is based on both work inside and outside the classroom.

Applicant must be a resident of Tarrant County, TX, who plans to attend a college or university within the state of Texas. Financial need and 500-word essay required. Interest in pursuing a career in real estate and/or law is preferred.

This program is designed to make sure that well-prepared high school graduates with financial need can go to college. Applicants must be Texas residents, be registered with Selective Service or be exempt, have a nine month EFC of no more than $5,088 and be enrolled at least three-quarter time. To apply, students must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA). Eligibility for this program is determined by the college financial aid office. Applicants should contact the college financial aid office for additional information and availability of funds.

Applicant must be a Texas resident who is a peace officer who has been disabled in the line of duty. Award may be used at Texas public colleges and universities only.

Applicant must be a sophomore at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi who is majoring in education. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and maintain a course load of at least 12 semester hours (nine for graduate students).

This program is designed to encourage students who graduate in the top 10 percent of their high school class to attend a Texas public college or university. Applicants must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA), have financial need, and enroll full-time in a Texas public college or university in the fall semester. Applicants should contact the college financial aid office for additional information and availability of funds.

Applicant must have been enrolled in a school in Texas during some phase of education (elementary, secondary, or high school). Selection is based upon scholastic ability, potential, professional interest, character, and financial need.

Applicant must be a degree-seeking student who has a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA (at least a 3.0 GPA each semester), and must be a resident of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, or Texas residing in school's service area. Official Texarkana Coll transcripts required. First preference is for an applicant who attended Texarkana Coll on an Albert Loftin scholarship; second preference is for an applicant who attended Texarkana Coll full time who plans on completing an undergraduate degree at Texas A&M U - Texarkana.

Applicant must be a graduating senior or current college student in the Coastal Bend with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicant must plan to attend Del Mar College or Texas A&M - Kingsville and pursue a major in civil engineering. Minimum 12 semester hours required.

This program is designed to make sure that well-prepared high school graduates with financial need can go to college. Applicant must be a degree-seeking student age 25 or over providing financial support for children age 18 or under, enrolled in at least six semester hours, have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA with no grade below "B," at Texas A&M U - Texarkana and must be a resident of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, or Texas residing in school's service area.

Applicants must be graduating high school seniors in Texas, have a 3.0 or higher GPA and plan to major or minor in a communications-related field. Students must also have been involved in journalism during high school.

Applicant must be a resident of Texas, enrolled at least half time at a Texas college or university in a program leading to licensure as an LVN. Applicant must demonstrate financial need.

Applicants must have been registered on a Dixie Youth Baseball team participating in a franchised Dixie Youth Baseball Inc. league prior to reaching age thirteen. Selection is based on financial need, scholastic record and citizenship. Programs are located in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
