Scholarships for Students in Kentucky

This scholarship is for Kentucky residents who will be attending approved nursing programs (registered nurse or practical nurse) or graduate nursing programs. Preference is given to applicants with financial need, LPNs pursuing RN education, and RNs pursuing graduate nursing education.

The scholarship requires that a recipient must work full-time as a nurse in Kentucky for one year for each academic year funded.  The work obligation begins after graduation from the program which you are funded.

Applicants must be sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate or graduate students in natural or applied science, engineering or mathematics at Brown University, Colorado School of Mines, Clemson University, Florida Institute of Technology, Georgia Institute of Technology, Harvey Mudd College, Johns Hopkins University, Louisiana State University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Miami University, North Carolina State University, North Dakota State University, Ohio State, Pennsylvania State University, Purdue University, Syracuse University, Texas A&M University, Tufts University, University of Arizona, University of Central Florida, University of Chicago, University of Colorado, University of Kansas, University of Kentucky, University of Minnesota, University of Michigan, University of Oklahoma, University of Rochester, University of Southern California, University of Texas at Austin, University of Virginia, University of Washington, University of Wisconsin or Washington University and must be nominated by faculty or staff. Applicants may not directly apply for the scholarship. Students must have excellent grades and performed research or lab work in their field.

Applicant must be a Kentucky resident and have a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Applicants must be working toward a degree in one of the following fields: animal science, animal nutrition, dairy science, poultry science, equine/equestrian science, agriculture, agricultural science, agricultural business management, economics, finance or marketing and sales. Applicants must attend college in and be residents of one of the following states: Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia or West Virginia. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

Applicant must be a resident of Kentucky with a minimum 3.75 GPA and minimum composite ACT score of 32.

Applicants must be Kentucky residents who are at least 18 years of age. They must be employed or planning a career in the Kentucky workforce and attending an institution of higher learning. Individuals may receive a grant no more than once every 24 months. Deadlines are April 30 and October 31 of each year.

Applicant must not be resident of Kentucky.

Applicants must be current undergraduate or graduate students who hold a significant campus leadership position, demonstrate significant leadership skills and abilities and make significant contributions through on- or off-campus volunteering. Students must attend school in Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia or western Pennsylvania.

Applicants must be Kentucky residents and be children, stepchildren, adopted children, spouses or unremarried widows/widowers of Kentucky veterans and must be age 26 or younger. The veteran must have died in active duty or as a result of a service-connected disability, have a service-connected 100 percent disability, have served during wartime and be totally disabled or have died for any reason.

Applicant must be an African-American high school senior and be a Kentucky resident. Selection based upon academic merit.

Applicant must be the child, stepchild, or non-remarried widow/widower of a veteran or national guardsman killed while in service or having died as a result of service-connected disability. Veteran must have been a Kentucky resident upon entrance into service.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens either living in or attending school in Ohio, Kentucky or Indiana. They must be in at least the second year of an undergraduate degree program that is related to construction and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

Applicants must be a permanent resident of the United States and be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate in an accredited engineering or physical science degree program at a two or four-year college or university. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and have a permanent address within the NACE Eastern Area which includes the following states and/or U.S. Territories: Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana (excluding Lake, Porter La Porte, Newton and Jasper counties), Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia.

Applicants must be high school seniors who reside in the counties specified by the foundation and plan to attend college in Kentucky, Indiana or Ohio. Students must have a minimum ACT composite score of 18 or at least a 2.5 GPA and must demonstrate academic achievement, leadership and financial need.

Applicant must be the spouse, child or step-child between 17 and 26 years of age (biological or adopted), or non-remarried widow of a permanently and totally disabled war veteran, prisoner of war, or serviceman missing in action. Veteran must be a resident of Kentucky, or if deceased, have been a Kentucky resident at time of death.

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be a resident of District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, or West Virginia.

Applicants may be from Iowa or Texas and working toward two-year degrees in agricultural business management, farm and ranch management, livestock management or agricultural sales and marketing. Applicants may also be from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, New York, North Dakota, South Dakota, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina or South Carolina and working toward four-year degrees in agricultural business management, farm and ranch management, livestock management or agricultural sales and marketing. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

Applicant must be a full-time student with a minimum 3.0 GPA who resides in Ohio or Kentucky and has financial need.

Applicant must be a Kentucky resident and work at least 20 hours weekly in a participating early childhood facility or approved professional development training.

Applicants must be working toward degrees in one of the following areas of agriculture: agronomy, crop science, agricultural communications, education, journalism, extension, public relations, business management, economics, finance, sales, marketing, plant pathology, plant breeding, plant genetics, soil science, soil conservation, water conservation or public service and administration. Applicants must be residents of Arkansas, California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia or Wisconsin. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.
