Scholarships for Students in Massachusetts

To be eligible for a Massachusetts Part-Time Grant, an applicant must be a permanent legal resident of Massachusetts for at least one year prior to the start of the academic year; be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen; have applied for financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); not be in default of any federal or state student loans; be enrolled for at least six (or the equivalent) but fewer than 12 undergraduate credits per academic term; not have received a prior bachelor's degree or professional degree or their equivalent; and demonstrate financial aid need as determined by the federal methodology need analysis criteria. Grants vary from $200 up to the cost of attendance.

Applicants must be planning to attend a school in the state of Massachusetts which participates in the UPlan program.

Applicants must be sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate or graduate students in natural or applied science, engineering or mathematics at Brown University, Colorado School of Mines, Clemson University, Florida Institute of Technology, Georgia Institute of Technology, Harvey Mudd College, Johns Hopkins University, Louisiana State University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Miami University, North Carolina State University, North Dakota State University, Ohio State, Pennsylvania State University, Purdue University, Syracuse University, Texas A&M University, Tufts University, University of Arizona, University of Central Florida, University of Chicago, University of Colorado, University of Kansas, University of Kentucky, University of Minnesota, University of Michigan, University of Oklahoma, University of Rochester, University of Southern California, University of Texas at Austin, University of Virginia, University of Washington, University of Wisconsin or Washington University and must be nominated by faculty or staff. Applicants may not directly apply for the scholarship. Students must have excellent grades and performed research or lab work in their field.

Applicants must be Massachusetts or Rhode Island residents and have lived in Massachusetts or Rhode Island for at least four years before having entered that practical nursing program. They must be full-time students who have completed two consecutive semesters of their program of study. Selection is based on stated career goals and professional potential.

Applicant must work in a nursing home or assisted living residence in Massachusetts and must have worked there for at least one year.

Applicant must be a United States citizen of Polish descent or a Polish citizen with permanent residency status in the United States who is entering their first, second, or third year of studies towards an M.D. degree. Applicant must be a female residing in Massachusetts. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

Award amounts vary.

Applicant must be an incoming freshman student from Massachusetts in the Hospitality & Tourism Management department who is pursuing a career in food service management. Minimum 3.0 GPA and evidence of experience in the food service industry required.
