It is a scholarship available for descendant of a veteran – deceased or in financial need. The applicant must be a Pennsylvania resident and plan on attending an accredited school for Nurses Training.
The award is in the amount of $1200. It is payable the first year of $400, the next two (2) years, each for $400. The application process includes an essay concerning motivation for entering the Nursing profession.

Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania is a non-profitable foundation created to recognize and retain nurses in Pennsylvania. The deadline for applying for a scholarship is January 31st and scholarships will be awarded in March of each year. Eligablity requirements includes
- must be a resident of Pennsylvania
- must be admitted to a nursing school in Pennsylvania which prepares the student to become a licensed practical nurse, a registered nurse or working toward an advanced degree in nursing to practice in a new, advanced role in nursing
