Jewish scholarships

Applicant must have a bachelors or masters degree who is working toward a Ph.D. degree in the School of Arts and Humanities. Applications from students pursuing the study of the Holocaust and/or modern Jewish culture or comparative perspectives on the American and European Jewish experience are especially welcomed. Cover letter explaining goals, CV, writing sample, and three recommendation letters are required.

Applicant must be a Jewish undergraduate or graduate student who has been accepted to or is attending an accredited college or university program and is majoring in library science, English literature, or related field with the intention of working with underserved children to excite them through reading to pursue higher education. Applicant's parents must be permanent residents of the greater San Francisco Bay Area.

Applicant must be Jewish, be a resident of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, northern Santa Clara, or Sonoma County, CA, and have a cosigner who resides in the Bay area. Preference is given to applicants pursuing careers in music or woodworking.

Applicant must be looking to pursue traditional Jewish studies at yeshivot or seminaries full-time in the State of Israel.

Applicant must be under age 26, Jewish, demonstrate financial need, and be a resident of Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, or Sonoma County, Calif.

Applicant must be a Jewish resident of the Washington, DC metropolitan area, who has been accepted into an accredited four-year undergraduate program on a full-time basis. Selection is based primarily on financial need. Awards may not be used for community college or study abroad programs (including Israel).

Applicant must be a Jewish resident of the Washington, DC metropolitan area who is enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program or vocational training program in the United States.

Applicants must attend a California high school for a minimum of three years; or attain credits equivalent to three or more years of high school coursework and a combination of three or more years at a California elementary or secondary school. Applicants must graduate from a California high school, pass the California High School Proficiency Exam (CHSPE) or get a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and enroll in an accredited California college or university. Applicants will be eligible for Cal Grants, Middle Class Scholarships and other state and institutional financial aid. Applicants should check with the campus financial aid office for further details or requirements. State and institutional aid such as Cal Grants are free money for college that does not have to be paid back.

Applicant must be a Jewish undergraduate student at a four-year accredited college or university. Applicant's parents must be permanent residents of San Francisco, the Peninsula (Sunnyvale and north), Marin, or Sonoma County. Financial need, strong academic record, and Jewish community involvement required.

Applicant must be Jewish who was born/raised in the Chicago Metropolitan area or who has one year of employment in the Chicago area prior to entering school. Undergraduate applicants must be entering their junior or senior year; graduate applicants must be entering an accredited, professional graduate school as a full-time student. Applicant must plan to remain in Chicago after completing school and have the intention to be in a career in the helping professions. Personal interview required.

Applicant must be a woman, be Jewish, demonstrate financial need, and be a resident of Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, or Sonoma County, Calif.

Applicant must be Jewish, be a resident of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, northern Santa Clara, or Sonoma County, CA, and have a co-signer who resides in the Bay area.

Applicant must be under age 26, be Jewish, be referred by agency caseworker, demonstrate financial need, and be a resident of Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, or Sonoma County, Calif.

Applicant must be female, Jewish, demonstrate financial need, and be a resident of Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, or Sonoma County, Calif.

Applicant must be a women who is enrolled full-time. Financial need and academic achievement are required.

Applicant must be Jewish, be under age 22, demonstrate financial need, and be a resident of Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, or Sonoma County, Calif. Award is for a study trip to Israel.

Applicant must be a Jewish, permanent legal resident of Los Angeles County with demonstrated financial need. Applicant must be planning to attend as full-time student at an approved college, university, vocational school, graduate school or professional school. FAFSA must be filed.

Applicant must be a Jewish undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree program in electrical engineering at an accredited college, university, or graduate school. Applicant must be from the San Francisco Bay Area. Minimum 3.0 GPA, financial need, demonstration of leadership in the Jewish/general community, and evidence of practicing tzedakah (justice) and tikkun olam (repairing the world - volunteerism).
