The Diabetes Scholars Foundation Scholarship Program is available to incoming freshmen seeking a higher education at an accredited four year university, college, technical or trade school. This scholarship recognizes students who are actively involved in the diabetes community, who have high academic performance, who participate in community and/or extra-curricular activities and who have demonstrated that they are successfully managing the challenges of living with diabetes. Diabetes Scholars Foundation scholarships are not based on financial need.

Akron General Medical Center Service League Nursing Scholarship

The goal of Akron General Medical Center’s Service League Nursing Scholarship is to provide financial assistance for students regardless of race, religion, sex, age, disability or national origin, who are accepted by an accredited college of nursing. The Akron General Medical Center Development Foundation through endowments funded by the Akron General Medical Center Service League and other benefactors will provide scholarships. The scholarships are awarded based on candidate’s scholarship and financial need.

Past Presidents Parley - Nurses' Scholarship

The American Legion Auxiliary Department of Ohio, Past Presidents Parley, has a program to assist students pursuing a degree in the nursing field.

  • The applicant must be an honorably discharged veteran or a spouse, son or daughter (adopted, step, grand, or great-grand) of a living, deceased, or disabled honorably discharged veteran
  • The applicant must be a resident of Ohio.
  • The applicant must be sponsored by an Ohio American Legion Auxiliary Unit.
  • The scholarship may be used at the nursing school of the student's choice. Proof of acceptance must be attached to application.

American Association of Diabetes Educators Grant

The purpose of this grant is to encourage qualified nurses to contribute to the enhancement and availability of quality diabetes education and care through nursing research.Funds for this grant are provided jointly by AADE and Sigma Theta Tau International. Preference will be given to Sigma Theta Tau International members, other qualifications being equal.

Applicant must be under the age of 25 years old who is a resident of South Dakota, and whose father, mother has died or has sustained a total disability, permanent in nature, resulting from duty as a member of the South Dakota National Guard, while on state or federal active duty or any authorized training duty. The same regulations apply for spouses of guardsmen of the South Dakota National Guard.
