Western Texas College
Founded in 1971, this two-year community college offers a yearly enrollment of 2,500 students. It offers a wide array of degree selections. The Vocational Nursing program is a Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board approved program. You can graduate from this program if you complete 12 months of their training. Upon graduation, you get a certificate from WTC and an eligibility to take the LVN state exam.
The 12-month program consists of both classroom and clinical instruction with the first few weeks spent inside a traditional classroom. Clinicals only begin during the second month with a setting in a Snyder medical facility. Tests are given and a student must pass at least 50% of these and have a grade of no less than 80 in order to graduate.
Students meet four days each week; from Monday till Thursday.
