LPN Programs in Georgia

Becoming eligible for LPN employment in the State of Georgia means completing a training program that is approved by the Georgia Board of Examiners of NCLEX-PN. Generally, a GED or a completed high school diploma is the chief requirement for entry-level applicants. Also referred to as the ATC, this is a state-supported, two-year, co-educational college in Albany. Founded in 1961, it was then named Monroe Area Vocational-Technical School. This school then merged to the Albany Area Vocational-Technical School a decade after. It was finally named Albany Technical college only in the year 2000. 

The LPN Program in this college focuses on instructing physiology, anatomy, drug calculations, diet therapy, nutrition, ethics, and patient care. Clinical experience in this school includes acute, mental health, long-term and outpatient care instruction. 

Atlanta Technical College 

Also referred to as the ATC, this school is located in Atlanta, GA. It is a member of the Technical College System of Georgia and offers diplomas, certificates and Associate’s degrees. 

The Practical Nursing program in this college is specifically designed to train students to become full-fledged, competent nursing care professionals. This is achieved through a series of academic and occupational courses teaching a variety of techniques. 

Successful completion of the coursework and adherence to the HCA or Healthcare Assistant curriculum guidelines renders a student eligible to graduate. You must also be able to maintain a grade point average of 2.5.
