The Cabell County Career Technology Center Nursing program is an adult program designed to be completed in one year of full time study. The curriculum consists of 1300 hours of semester credits offered from July to June.
The program offers clinical experience in a range of healthcare settings including clinics, nursing homes, mental health settings, rehabilitation facilities, physicians’ Offices and hospitals.
The program prepares students to provide direct nursing caring in entry level positions. Graduates from the program are eligible to apply to sit for the National Licensure Examination to be licensed as a Practical Nurse.
Admission Requirements:
1. Applicants to the program are required to be eighteen years older
2. High school diploma or GED equivalency certificate
3. Test of Essential Academic Skills
4. Minimum scores on all pre-admissions tests

Applicants accepted into the LPN program are required to submit proof of program specific health examinations including, dental exam, tuberculin skin tests, and proof of immunization for Hepatitis B and Tetanus.
Students accepted into the program are expected to adhere to the professional standards that are established for Nursing Practitioners and the educational program.
Fayette County Career and Technical Institute Practical Nursing Program is designed to be completed in one calendar year of full time study. The program consists of 1554 hours of instruction divided into three levels of training.
The program schedule demands students to be available for 7 hours of training a day, five days per week with vacation and holiday time scheduled over the year. The program consists of theoretical instruction and clinical experience.
Students are expected to attend all classes and clinical sessions at all times for maximum benefit in the program.
The program accepts classes every six months, enrolling two classes every year.

Admission is open to all qualified applicants meeting the demands for the program on a first come first serve basis; class size for each intake is limited.
The program maintains a wait list of qualified applicants not accepted during an enrollment period for admission in the next intake.
The Fred W. Eberle Technical Center School of Practical Nursing offers a program preparing adults through funds provided by the Division of Technical and Adult Education of the Department of Education of the State of West Virginia.
The Practical Nursing Program is accredited by the West Virginia State Board of Examiners for Licensed Practical Nurses.
The program utilizes a comprehensive curriculum which extends over 12 months incorporating theoretical classroom instruction and clinical experience in a range of healthcare settings.
The school is affiliated with the William R. Sharpe Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital, Stonewall Jackson Memorial, Holbrook's Nursing Home, United Hospital Center, Sunbridge of Salem, and Davis Regional Healthcare.
Applications for admission in January are accepted between the 1st of January and the 31st of July every year. All applicants to the Practical Nursing program are required to take a pre-admission examination to assess basic skills in math, reading and comprehension skills.
Qualified candidates will be called in for interviews in October with final selections for admission in January being announced in November.
Candidates accepted into the program will be required to submit to criminal background checks by the FBI in fulfillment of the requirement West Virginia Board of Examiners for Practical Nurses.
Graduates from the nursing program are eligible to apply to sit for the National Council Licensure Exam. Successful completion of the course and passage of the state licensure examination entitles one to be a Licensed Practical Nurse or LPN. Past statistics show a 70-80% completion rate of starting students, 100% passage rate of the NCLEX-PN (licensure exam), and 100% job placement.
The Greenbrier School of Practical Nursing is operated by the Greenbrier Board of Education under the sponsorship of the West Virginia Board of Education. The program is accredited by the West Virginia Board of Examiners for Practical Nurses.
The curriculum for the nursing program requires 12 months of intensive study. The program is currently associated with the Greenbrier Manor and GVMC for clinical trials.
One class, consisting of approximately 25 students, is admitted into the program annually for the fall semester. The deadline for applications received by mail is the 15th of May every year.
Students who successfully complete the program will be awarded a diploma and will be eligible to apply to sit for the licensure examination for Practical Nurses offered by the West Virginia State Board of Examiners.
Each year approximately 25 students are selected to begin an intensive 12 month program to prepare for a career as a practical nurse.

The James Rumsey Licensed Practical Nurse Program is designed students to provide efficient nursing care. The program proceeds in a progression from the simple to the complex elements with each progression including theoretical and clinical components.
The LPN program is accredited by the West Virginia State Board of Examiners for Licensed Practical Nurses.
The program serves as a basis for continued education to meet the requirements for advanced licensure as required by the regulations of the West Virginia Board of Examiners for Licensed Practical Nurses.

Evaluations for the program depend in the completion of each clinical rotation with a minimum of a 2.5 GPA required for each rotation.
The clinical elements of the program are divided into 5 rotations with a score of 80% or more required for each rotation. Clinical opportunities are offered at a range of healthcare sites.

The John D Rockefeller IV Career Center program of Practical Nursing is designed to prepare students in accordance with the standards established by the West Virginia State Board of Examiners for Licensed Practical Nurses. Graduates from the program are eligible to apply to sit for the National Council Examination for Licensure to be Licensed as a Practical Nurse.

The Mercer County Technical Education Center Practical Nursing Program is designed to prepare adult students for entry level positions in healthcare.
The program is offered in units of study prepared in a progression from the simple to the complex with all elements including theoretical and clinical components.
Admission Requirements:
Applicants who successfully pass the assessment examination will be notified by mail to submit references forms and student records in preparation for an interview with the admission committee.
The admission committee will review complete applications on the basis of scores on the assessment examination, review of all transcripts and other supporting documentation and the personal interview.

The Roane Jackson Technical Center, Nursing program is designed to prepare students who are able to offer quality nursing care in a range of healthcare setting.
The program offers instruction in a combination if classroom, laboratory and clinical practice settings. Clinical practice and practical experience in offered at a range of health care facilities in the area under the supervision of faculty and trained staff.
Admission Requirements:
Applicants that have completed the application documentation will be interviews by members of the faculty of the School of Nursing. The program offers a 120 credit hour waiver for Certified Nursing Assistants.
Qualified applicants who are accepted into the program are required to confirm accepting the placement by submitting required fees.
The program will require health assessment, drug screening and criminal background check as required by clinical health care settings cooperating with the program and by the licensing body.
Classes for the program begin in July with classroom instruction held from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm five days a week. Hours for clinical practice may vary as per arrangement with host facilities.
The United Technical Center Practical Nursing program is a 12 month program preparing adults for entry level jobs in nursing cares. The program is accredited by the West Virginia State Board of Examiners for Licensed Practical Nurses and North Central Association.
Students who successfully graduate from the program are eligible to apply to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing.
Graduates wishing to pursue further education in Registered Nursing and articulation are prepared to do so by the academic instruction they receive in this program.
