The Bates Technical College Nursing Program prepares students to enter the field of nursing in a range of healthcare settings. The program is approved by the Washington Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission.
The program integrates clinical activities as part of the curriculum allowing students to acquire practical nursing experience under proper supervision at various healthcare settings.
Graduates from the program are eligible to apply to sit for the NCLEX PN exam to become LPN in the State of Washington.
Admission Requirements:
Applicants to the nursing program are required to submit to the requirements of licensing bodies and clinical sites.
Applications are only processed if all pre-requisite courses have been. General education requirements will need to be complete before enrolling for nursing courses.
The Columbia Basin College Nursing program offers a Career Ladder Nursing program which is accredited by the National League for Nursing.
Classes are offered at the Richland Health Science Center and clinical practice experience is offered at healthcare settings within the local community. The campus offers high tech laboratories for practice to offer a simulated environment for safe learning and to acquire technical skills.
The program offers two entry points. The first entry point is offered at the start of the program for applicants with no experience in nursing. Students are admitted for this track in the fall semester.
The second entry point is for Licensed Practical Nurses who seek to enter the program with Advanced Placement standing without being required to do over material that has been covered in the past. Applicants to this track will be admitted according to the availability of space and an evaluation of past education.
Exit from the program is provided at the end of each year of enrollment. Students who successfully complete the first year are able to receive a Practical Nurse Certificate and are eligible to apply to sit for the License Practical Nurse licensure examination. After successfully completing the second year students will receive an Associate in Applied Science Degree and are eligible to sit for the licensure examination by the state board.

The Nursing program admits 50 students every year.
The Everett Community College nursing program offers an accredited curriculum culminating in the Associates of Science Degree in Nursing.
The Nursing Curriculum offers a strong foundation in social sciences, communication, biology, general education and nursing courses. The curriculum integrates theoretical classroom settings and practical nursing experience at the campus laboratories, simulation laboratories and a range of health care setting in the community.
Many graduates go on to earn BSN degrees and other higher nursing qualifications.
Admission Requirements:
Applicants to the nursing program are accepted in the fall, winter and spring semesters. Applications are processed on an ongoing basis with the deadline for admittance in the winter quarter being the 5th of September and the 5th of January for enrollment in the spring quarter. Should the deadline fall on a weekend or a holiday it will be pushed back to the Friday before at 2 PM.
The college is closed on Friday’s during the summer quarter which means that all deadlines that fall on a Friday are moved back to the business day before. All applicants are expected to attend an information session.
The Heritage College Nursing Program is intended to prepare students with a range of nursing qualifications from entry level to advance degrees.
The curriculum combined theoretical in class instruction with practical clinical experience and opportunities for involvement in the local community.
Admission Requirements

Students accepted in to any of the nursing options will have to submit proof of a current physical exam, CPR certification for health care providers, drug screening, criminal background check and other requirements.
Students who successfully complete the required PN and concurrent course work are eligible to take the State Board Practical Nursing Examination leading to licensure as a practical nurse (LPN). Students that have their LPN are then able to apply for the LPN to RN ADN Bridge Program.
The Lake Washington Institute of Technology Nursing Program offers an AAS-T degree to prepare students for the nursing profession. The curriculum is designed to offer an academically challenging and technically advanced training.
Graduates from the program are eligible to apply to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination.
Admission Programs:
The admission processes for the program are competitive with more applications received than there are seats available. Applications will be reviewed on the basis of grade scored in pre-requisite courses, references, prior education, work experience and scores on the TEAS exam.
Applications to the program are accepted three times every year. Applications for admission in the fall quarter are in April and applications for admission in the winter quarter are accepted in October. Applicants seeking enrollment in the spring quarter need to apply in January.
The evaluation committee in charge of reviewing the applications will forward final selection letters to all applicants who submitted complete applications as to the final decision reached.
The Lower Columbia College Nursing Program prepares students to offer holistic service for all. The program is approved by the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission and is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
The program offers several entry points:
Students seeking to complete the Applied Science Degree to become Registered Nurse can do so by completing the remaining 3 quarters of the nursing curriculum. Students who complete the curriculum are eligible to take the state exam to become a licensed RN.
Admission Requirements:
The Skagit Valley College, Nursing Program offers the second year of the Associate Degree in Registered Nursing. The program is approved by the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission and is accredited by the National League of Nursing Accreditation Commission.
The LPN-RN program is a program offered on a part time basis over five quarters. Students who successfully complete the program are awarded an Associate Degree in Registered Nursing and are eligible to sit for the State Licensing Examination for Registered Nursing.
Skagit also offers a full time practical nursing program which is four quarters long although students are able to complete the program in seven quarters of part time study. Students who successfully complete this program are awarded a Certificate in Practical Nursing and will be eligible to apply to sit for the State Licensing Examination to be licensed as Practical Nursing.
The waiting list for the nursing program is administered by the Whidbey Island Campus Nursing Department.
Admission Requirements:
Applicants who are accepted into the program are expected to submit to the program specific requirements including physical examination assessment, criminal background check and drug screening.
The Seattle Community College Licensed Practical Nurse program is offered over 4 quarters totaling 78 credit hours.
Students enrolled in the program have the option of exiting the program after 4 quarters with a Certificate in Practical Nursing which qualifies them to sit for the Washington State Examination to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Students who seek to earn a an Associate of Applied Science degree can pursue additional general education credits after completing the Practical Nursing Program.
The program is a full time program is offered mainly in the evenings and over the weekend. A typical schedule would consist of lectures given two evenings of the week, laboratory hours offered one afternoon a week and one full day of clinical practice on a week end day.
Admission into the LPN program is based on a competitive process that takes into account the cumulative grade point average for all pre-requisite courses.
The minimum GPA considered for admission is a 2.5. All science and nursing prerequisite courses need to have been taken in the last seven years and all non-science general education requirements will need to have been completed in the last 10 years. A current Nursing Assistant License from the State of Washington for admission.

The Spokane Community College Nursing program offers an Applied Associate of Science Degree to prepare students for entry level nursing practice in a diverse range of healthcare settings. The program is approved by the Washington Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission.
The program allows for different exit points with students being able to take the state exam to qualify as a Nursing Assistant Certificate. Students who complete the second quarter are eligible to qualify as Nurse Technicians, after the completion of four quarters in the program students have the option to apply to sit for licensure as practical nurses.
Students who complete the seven quarters of the program will graduate with an AAS degree and are eligible to apply for the National Licensure Council examination.
Admission Requirements: Students are expected to submit all official transcripts and diplomas and to complete general education and science requirements. Applicants will be advised in regards to placement after transcripts have been reviewed by the Health Science counselor.

The Walla Walla Community College LPN program is approved by the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission and is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
Students who successfully complete a year of courses, and additional coursework in the summer quarter will be eligible to apply to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination to be licensed as a Practical Nurse.
Admission Requirements:
Students transferring from another nursing program will be accepted into the program as space permits after the appropriate evaluation of their application documents and performance evaluation for clinical practice from the previous program. Transfer students will also need to have demonstrably adequate skills in laboratory and medication administration skills to be admitted into the program.
Successful applicants to the program will be required to submit immunization records, criminal background check, proof of personal liability insurance, certificate for HIV training, and current CPR certification.
Clinical rotations will be scheduled at all times of the day of the week including at night and on weekends. The shifts may vary in length lasting to up to 12.5 hours at a range of clinical settings which may situated at some distance and require the student to arrange means of transport beforehand.
