LPN Programs in New Jersey

If you are looking for a program that can help you become a licensed practical nurse in New Jersey, then you are in luck. There are various colleges that now offer the Practical Nursing program in the state. Here are two out of the 38 available programs to choose from –

Essex County College

This public college is located at the center of Newark at the University Heights. The school has over 13,000 enrollees each year and a small portion of this population is comprised of the Practical Nursing students. This program is accredited by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing.

You need to study for 12 months to complete the Practical Nurse curriculum. There are 49 credit hours to complete which includes classes in anatomy, English, psychology, adult and child health; to name a few. ECC’s LPN program includes lab, clinical rotations and coursework. The Simulation Lab also plays a huge role in molding the students into the competent LPNs that they become.

Union County College

UCC was founded in 1933, hence, it is New Jersey’s oldest two-year college. The school offers both certificate and associate degree programs. There are 80 credit programs and continuing education. Those who opt for distance learning can join 12,000 more students who are already enjoying the perks of this mode of study.

UCC’s Practical Nursing diploma program is a four-semester curriculum that offers day, evening and weekend courses. The coursework centers on biology, psychology, health care and nursing fundamentals. General and specialized courses comprise the rest of the curriculum.
