El Paso Community College
El Paso Community College (EPCC) is located in El Paso, Texas and operates five different campuses. EPCC is a community college that was established back in 1972and has more than 24,000 students enrolled. This school has various associate’s degree programs and certificate programs. Students will also have transfer opportunities when they wish to continue their educational pursuits at four-year universities. EPCC is even well known for having a successful athletics program. The school has many team sports and is a part of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) competing in Region V.
The EPCC nursing program allows students to pursue becoming professional nurses. Students can sign up for the vocational nursing program or the traditional associate’s degree in nursing program. Current LVNs can apply for the LVN-to-RN track and current paramedics can apply to the paramedic-to-RN track. All nursing programs will be preparing students with the necessary skills to function as a professional member of a medical team. Students will be prepared to take either the NCLEX-PN or NCLEX-RN licensure exams upon graduation, depending on their nursing path. The associate’s degree in nursing program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
