South Texas College
South Texas College (STC) is located in McAllen, Texas. STC was established in 1993 and it now serves around 31,000 students. It has been accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. There are many bachelor’s degree opportunities as well as associate’s degree opportunities. Students can also earn certificates in certain areas of study. Credits at STC are also very easily transferable over to various universities, allowing students to have many options when they want to continue their academic pursuits elsewhere. STC even has the distinction of operating one of the largest dual enrollment programs in the United States. Many high school students begin earning college credits ahead of their high school graduations at this school.
The STC nursing program allows students to take part in the vocational nursing program or the associate’s degree in nursing program. Nursing programs at STC are very competitive and this will be a comprehensive educational program. Upon graduation from one of the nursing programs, a student will be eligible to apply to take the appropriate NCLEX licensure exam. The nursing program at STC has been accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
