Vernon College
Vernon College is located in Vernon, Texas. Vernon was established back in 1972 and was originally known as Vernon Regional Junior College before ultimately changing to its current name. Students have several associate’s degree and certificate options to pick from at Vernon. There are even many continuing education courses. Students will be able to transfer their college credits from Vernon over to four-year universities as well so it is a good option for those who wish to move on to pursue bachelor’s degrees. Vernon offers students many opportunities and even hosts the Red River Valley Museum on its main campus. Vernon college has been accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
The Vernon College nursing program gives students the chance to become licensed vocational nurses (LVNs) or registered nurses (RNs). The school also offers an LVN-to-RN track for current LVNs who qualify. Students of this nursing program will be able to learn in a classroom environment while also enjoying many clinical experiences at local hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and various other healthcare facilities. The nursing programs at Vernon College are accredited by the Texas Board of Nursing.
