Admission Requirements
Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university required
Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (overall, institutional, and prerequisite GPA of at least 3.0)
Applicants with GPA below 3.0 may be considered for provisional admission on a case-by-case basis
Must maintain a program GPA of at least 3.0 after admission
Applicants dismissed from any nursing program are ineligible unless they have obtained additional degrees or credentialing and meet other requirements
Entrance Exams
Chemistry with lab acceptable in lieu of exam OR score of 60 or higher on the science portion of the TEAS
Prerequisites
Required courses (must be completed prior to enrollment unless otherwise stated): Chemistry with lab (3–4 hours) or TEAS science score 60+, Microbiology (3–4 hours), Human Anatomy with lab (3–4 hours), Human Physiology with lab (3–4 hours), Introductory Psychology or Developmental Psychology Across the Lifespan (3 hours), Statistics (3 hours)
Human Nutrition (3 hours) recommended but not required
Grade requirement: courses must be completed with a passing grade (C- or better per course table)

Spring application period opens March 1 and closes October 1; official transcripts must be received by October 15
Applications evaluated on a rolling basis until seats are filled
Course Equivalency Forms due July 1 and related transcripts due July 15 for spring admission (per ABSN application instructions)

Acceptance communicated via an acceptance letter that specifies degree completion conditions, official transcript receipt, seat confirmation deadline, and required pre-matriculation items (background check, immunizations, CPR, clinical equipment)
Wait List Policies
If campus capacity is reached, additional applicants may be placed on a waitlist or offered a seat at an alternate campus if available
Offers may be rescinded if prerequisite courses are not completed prior to the first day of classes
Clinical & Simulation Lab
Simulation facilities available at Morgantown and Bridgeport campuses with patient simulators and practice exam rooms
Bridgeport campus clinical facility: WVU Medicine United Hospital Center located adjacent to classrooms and skills labs
Clinical placements occur at approved clinical sites associated with each campus (site-specific hours not specified in source)
Credit Transfer
Course Equivalency Form required for transfer/course equivalency evaluation
Official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions must be submitted for transfer credit review
Applicants transferring from another nursing program must provide a statement of good standing from the current program
