Accelerated BSN Programs in Indiana

Program Length & Format

• Four consecutive semesters (15–16 months)
• Approximately 60 credit hours
• Full-time, in-person for semesters 1–3; semester 4 asynchronous (can be completed anywhere in the state with an affiliation agreement)
• Cohorts start each Fall, Spring, and Summer
• Enrollment limited to 150 seats per admission cycle

Admission Requirements

• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on undergraduate coursework
• Minimum of 60 credit hours completed that fulfill General Education/Graduation Requirements or an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree from an accredited Florida public institution prior to program admission
• Grade of C or better required in all prerequisite coursework (C- not accepted); prerequisites must be completed by the end of the semester in which the application is submitted
• Completion of state-mandated graduation requirements (Option A or B) by the end of the semester in which the application is submitted
• Proof of current health insurance required prior to enrollment

Application

• Submit NursingCAS application
• Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended must be submitted within NursingCAS for verification
• Non-FSU and transfer applicants must apply to Florida State University in addition to the College of Nursing application
• NursingCAS transcript verification is required for the application to be reviewed by the College of Nursing

Selection Process

• Holistic admissions review by the Undergraduate Admissions Committee composed of College of Nursing faculty
• Community engagement and work experience considered alongside overall and prerequisite GPA
• Admission limited by clinical space; meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission
• Applicants who fail to submit required transcripts before the deadline cannot be reviewed

Cost & Financial Aid

• Program clearance costs (background check, drug screen, EXXAT, Medfinity): approximate total $600
• Semester 1 estimated additional costs (books, uniforms, HESI, equipment, lab/supply fees): approximately $1,600 plus tuition

Clinical & Simulation Lab

• Clinical settings include community health agencies, clinics, hospitals, and patient homes
• Semester 2 may require travel to surrounding counties for community clinicals
• Semester 3 clinicals may be assigned outside Tallahassee (examples: Jacksonville, Pensacola, Orlando, Atlanta); students responsible for transportation and lodging
• Semester 4 internship placements may be outside Tallahassee; students responsible for transportation and living costs
• Simulation used in laboratory courses (NUR 3026L, NUR 3056L, NUR 3065L and others) with low/medium/high-fidelity simulation and debriefing

Credit Transfer

• Nursing prerequisites may be completed at accredited universities or community colleges
• FSU accepts credit by testing for prerequisite courses
• Course equivalency for prerequisites not listed requires a detailed course syllabus for content review

Program Length & Format

• Transfer applicants must complete an Associate of Science in Health Sciences (ASHS) from Marian University prior to entry

Prerequisites

• All program prerequisites must be completed before entry into the ABSN curriculum
• Prerequisite courses are available online through Marian University Online
• Transfer pathway requires completion of Marian’s ASHS to satisfy prerequisite requirements

Application

• Four-step process: contact an admissions advisor, complete a preliminary review, submit the ABSN application, complete prerequisites
• Three annual application cycles aligned with January, May, and August start dates
• Applicants must meet GPA and prerequisite completion requirements before program start

Selection Process

• Admission contingent on completion of required coursework and meeting GPA/prerequisite standards
• Applicants with prior degree GPA below 2.8 may be reviewed through an additional conditional process
• Transfer applicants accepted after completion of the ASHS pathway and meeting admissions criteria

Clinical & Simulation Lab

• Clinical rotations scheduled beginning in the first semester and continuing each semester
• In-person skills and simulation lab sessions required; lab attendance typically at least two days per week during lab periods
• Nashville site clinical partner: Ascension Saint Thomas; learning center located within Ascension Saint Thomas West and operates with hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday–Friday

Credit Transfer

• Transfer admissions path available in Indianapolis and Nashville
• Transfer students must complete Marian University’s ASHS program prior to entering the ABSN program to satisfy prerequisites

Program Length & Format

• Four-semester,  starting in Fall and graduating the following Fall

• Apply and be accepted to Purdue University Northwest and select the Accelerated Second-Degree nursing option
• Official transcripts from prior baccalaureate institution

• Syllabi for any nursing courses submitted for transfer credit evaluation by application deadline
• Clinical health and statutory documents (CPR, immunizations/titers, TB, OSHA/HIPAA, drug screen, background check, proof of insurance) uploaded to CastleBranch or designated platform by specified deadlines

Clinical & Simulation Lab

• Clinical attendance policy: mandatory attendance; maximum one clinical make-up per course; tardiness defined as 10 minutes late (first tardy = verbal warning; second tardy = clinical absence); no call/no show = failure
• Students required to provide their own transportation to clinical sites

Credit Transfer

• PNW accepts credits from regionally accredited institutions; prerequisites may be completed off-campus
• Nursing course transfer criteria: courses from nationally accredited nursing programs only, minimum transfer grade equivalent 3.0, syllabi required by application deadline, minimum 75% congruence for nursing course transfer
• Nursing courses used for transfer must have been completed within two academic years of application
• Minimum of 32 credit hours must be completed at PNW to earn a PNW degree
• Transfer credit limits noted: no more than 33 transfer credit hours for one professional track example and no more than 45 for another (per PNW policy); specific NUR courses (including capstone and several practicum courses) are not reviewed for transfer
