Application
Submit online application through the GW Nursing portal
Required documents: official transcripts, two letters of recommendation, current resume
Complete applications submitted by the priority deadline will be reviewed first

Selection Process
Applications reviewed in order of complete submission date with priority applications reviewed first
Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission
Virginia Tech students: guaranteed admission to the Accelerated BSN if bachelor’s degree, scholastic GPA ≥ 3.0, prerequisites completed, and online application submitted
Hybrid format: synchronous online didactic courses combined with on-campus labs, simulation, and in-person clinical rotations
Program start: fall semester; cohort, lock-step model; designed as full-time study only
Estimated study and instructional time: minimum 45 hours per week
Total clinical, lab, simulation, and experiential hours: 700+ hours
Final nursing practicum: precepted clinical placement
Admission Requirements
Prior bachelor’s degree in a field other than nursing required
Program preference: minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (holistic review applied)
Prerequisite courses must be completed prior to matriculation with specified minimum grades (see Prerequisites)
Full-time enrollment required; employment during enrollment discouraged
Entrance Exams
TOEFL required for applicants whose first language is not English; minimum score: 100
No TEAS or HESI exam requirement specified
Prerequisites
Five courses that must be completed within five years of matriculation with grade B or better: Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II (labs required), Microbiology (lab required), Pathophysiology, Chemistry (lab required)
Five additional prerequisites with minimum grade C: Probability & Statistics, Human Nutrition, Human Growth and Development (lifespan), Introductory Psychology, Introductory Sociology or Anthropology
Acceptable course alternatives: 4-credit Human Anatomy followed by 4-credit Human Physiology accepted; Comparative/Vertebrate/Mammalian A&P not accepted to fulfill A&P requirement
Accepted prerequisite coursework from accredited colleges, community colleges, or third-party providers if college credit is awarded

Cost & Financial Aid
Tuition rate 2025–26: $1,442 per credit hour; $20,185 per semester
Berkley Scholarship: $20,000 award available to selected ABSN students (selection based on admissions information and financial need)
Clinical & Simulation Lab
700+ total hours of clinical, lab, simulation, and experiential learning
Simulation facility: O’Neill Family Foundation Clinical Simulation Center located in St. Mary’s Hall
Clinical placements across the Washington, D.C., region, including sites within the MedStar Health system and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital
Clinical schedules may include early morning, evening, or weekend shifts depending on site requirements
Credit Transfer
Program coursework itself: transfer credit not accepted due to program format and duration
Previous college coursework may be used to satisfy prerequisite requirements and is evaluated on an individual basis
International Students
TOEFL required for applicants whose first language is not English; minimum score: 100
All foreign transcripts must be submitted and accompanied by a WES ICAP evaluation uploaded to the application
