Program Length & Format

  • 16-month accelerated program
  • Four full-time semesters
  • Combines classroom learning, clinical practicums, and simulation experiences
  • Program start each fall semester
  • Located on campus in Flint, Michigan

Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a non-nursing field required
  • Admission limited to a maximum of 56 students per cohort annually
  • Completion of prerequisite courses prior to application to the nursing program
  • Must be accepted to University of Michigan-Flint as a pre-nursing student before applying to the Accelerated BSN program

Deadlines

  • Application deadline for fall cohort: January 15 annually

Application

  • Apply for admission to University of Michigan-Flint as pre-nursing student
  • Meet with nursing advisor to plan prerequisite course completion
  • Submit direct application to Accelerated BSN program after completing prerequisites

Cost & Financial Aid

  • Transfer students with minimum 3.0 GPA receive $5,000 Transfer Scholarship ($2,500 per year for two years)
  • Additional scholarships for nursing students available through UM-Flint School of Nursing

Clinical & Simulation Lab

  • Clinical practicums at local hospitals and healthcare providers in Flint area
  • Access to the Center for Simulation and Clinical Innovation for skill development and training
  • Simulation labs designed for practice of patient assessments, clinical techniques, and decision-making
