  • Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II with Laboratory
  • Microbiology with Laboratory

  • General Chemistry or equivalent

  • Statistics
  • Speech or Communication course

Admission Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a field other than nursing required
• Minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA 3.0
• Prerequisite courses must be completed with a minimum grade of C in each course and minimum prerequisite GPA 2.0
• Applicants may apply when prerequisite courses, academic electives, and plan-of-study courses total 76 credit hours; all 76 credits must be completed before program start

• Psychosocial sciences (9 credit hours): General Psychology (3), Introduction to Sociology (3), Human Growth and Development across the life cycle (3)
• English composition (6 credit hours): English Composition I (3), English Composition II (3)
• Humanities and fine arts electives (15 credit hours) from approved list
• General electives (approx. 20 credit hours) including suggested course areas
• Accelerated applicants require an additional 14 credit hours of academic electives to reach 76 total credits
• Two of the three required science prerequisites must have grades posted prior to the application deadline
• Prerequisites must be taken at an accredited institution; science survey courses for non-science majors are not acceptable

Deadlines

• Accelerated BSN Oxford application deadline: December 15
• Accelerated BSN Jackson application deadline: September 1

Application

• Official college transcripts required; all documents must be submitted prior to the application deadline
• Current official transcript must be submitted to the Office of Enrollment Management for courses in progress; courses in progress without final grades cannot be considered in the admissions process

Clinical & Simulation Lab

• In-person clinical training included as part of curriculum

• Professional fee includes Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) testing fee, simulated practice environment cost, and skills lab supplies

Credit Transfer

• Prerequisites must be taken at an accredited institution for transfer credit
• Anatomy and physiology courses older than 10 years may not be accepted for transfer
• Science survey courses or courses for non-science majors are not acceptable for transfer credit
