ADN Programs in California

The Bakersfield College Associate Degree Nursing Program is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing and is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

The program is intended to prepare entry-level registered nurses. Students are trained to be providers and managers of health care.

Admission Procedures:

• Submit all application forms and transcripts within the designated filing periods
• Applicants are required to submit to pass a designated drug and alcohol screening
• Applicants are required to submit to a criminal background check (Students who cannot obtain a background clearance from the clinical agencies cannot be placed for clinical practice)
• Health screening and clearance (Appropriate immunizations and/or vaccinations and fit testing are also required and are performed at the student’s expense) An applicant needs to demonstrably meet the technical standards necessary to meet the objectives of the program.
• All pre-requisite courses need to be completed with a 'C' grade or higher
• Applicants for must submit a valid Social Security number at the time of application.

Graduates from the program are eligible to apply to sit for the RN Licensure. Record of any misdemeanor and/or felony is subject to review by the Board of Registered Nursing before a RN license may be granted.

The College of the Redwoods' Licensed Vocational Nursing Program is approved by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technician.

The program is three-semesters long allowing students to qualify for the National Council Licensing Examination (NCLEX-PN) for licensing as a vocational nurse. Graduates are eligible to qualify for a Certificate of Completion as LVN and or an Associate Science for LVN.

The student nurse will be evaluated on the basis of theoretical knowledge, skills and application of proficiency in clinical and laboratory settings.

Students are required to maintain a minimum ‘C’ grade in all nursing courses as well as a cumulative 2.0 GPA for all General Education requirements for the Associate Degree program

Admissions Requirements:

1. Current enrollment form
2. High School Diploma or GED equivalent certificate
3. Successful completion of pre-requisite courses (with a ‘C’ course or higher from an accredited college or universities)
4. Current California Nurse Assistant or Home Health Aid Certification

Admission selection will be based on a random lottery basis for all qualified applicants.

All successful; students will be required to submit to a criminal background check. If the student’s background check is not satisfactory health care facilities may refuse to give students access to patients or records in which case the program will not be able to provide alternate experiences.

The nursing program is a demanding program and students will find it difficult to manage more than part time employment. Clinical scheduling and lectures will not be altered due to outside work commitments.

All successful applicants will need to show proof of tetanus, varicella and rubella needs to be documented on the immunizations records of students. Hepatitis B.vaccine series and tuberculosis testing is recommended.

A current active CPR certification from the American Heart Association and American Red Cross will need to be maintained throughout the course of enrollment.  

The College of the Sequoias Associate Degree Registered Nurse and Licensed Vocational Nurse and Registered Program is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, and successful completion of the requirements qualifies the graduate to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).

The four semester program is designed to prepare students for entry level employment as well as for further study in the field of Nursing.

Students who graduate from this program are prepared for the role of care provider in a range of healthcare settings and as administrators. The curriculum allows for experience in a variety of health care settings including surgical, medical, perinatal, pediatric, geriatric and psychotic health.

Admission Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalency certificate
• Total GPA of 2.5 or higher for all college level courses
• A minimum of a ‘C’ grade of higher for English 1
• Complete 4 semester units including a lab component in each Biology pre-requisite course (With no more than one repeat)
• TEAS exam score of 62% or higher in the first three attempts

LVN-RN bridge program additional requirements:

• LVN Program Certificate
• LVN License
• IV Certification

The following courses are mandatory pre-requisites to be completed before application for entry into the RN program (BIOLOGY 30 Human Anatomy, BIOLOGY 31 Human Physiology, BIOLOGY 40 Microbiology, and ENGLISH 1)

Successful applicants are required to complete the following before the first class session of the Nursing Program: Attend Mandatory Orientation, present current CPR certification for health workers from the American Heart Association, possesses a valid California Driver’s License and California Auto Insurance, Present Health Clearance including required immunizations and physical Exam.

The Contra Costa College Nursing program is intended to prepare nursing professionals who are able to meet the healthcare needs of individuals, families and communities.

The faculty at Contra is committed to teamwork, collaboration, inquiry, critical thinking and creativity, technical competence, excellence in the safe practice of our profession based on research and evidence and promoting respect for the individual and family.

Application into the nursing program is competitive.  The application for admission is available on the Contra Costa College nursing web page, or the Admissions and Records web page.  

Admission Pre-requisites in addition to standard requirements:

1. Take and pass TEAS V examination
2. Health clearance and criminal background check and drug screening as required by clinical agencies
3. Pre-requisite Courses to be completed with a ‘C’ grade or better to qualify for admission (Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Microbiology, English Composition, Drug Dosage Calculations, and Pharmacology with a minimum GPA of 2.75 ) (Introduction to Sociology, General Psychology, Human Communication and Development Psychology with a Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0)

Licensed Vocational Nurse and Practical Nurses are admitted into the third semester of the nursing program with the same pre-requisite courses as above with the required GPA to be eligible.

Transfer applicants who completed part of a nursing curriculum, theory and clinical at another institution must follow the same application process as any other advanced placement applicant. (The same pre-requisite courses are required).

The Cuesta College ADN Program is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing.  Cuesta College is an accredited member of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. 

All courses and curricula have been approved by the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges.  

The program prepares students for an Associate in Science Degree. The curriculum is based on caring. A variety of clinical settings and diverse faculty offers students a well-rounded education. Community based internships and preceptorships equip students to become successful members of a health care team and encourage continued education.  

Cuesta College employs a multi-criteria screening to assess candidates on the basis of previous degrees earned, relevant certificates, GPA for pre-requisite coursework, Science/English repeats, work volunteer experience in healthcare, language proficiency, score on assessment test and special life circumstances.

Admission will be offered to the highest scoring eligible applicants with random computer selection used to break a tie. Some of the admission requirements include: general admission requirements to Cuesta College, TEAS exam score.

The following course pre-requisites need to be completed with a ‘C’ grade or higher:

Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Microbiology (all including lab) and English Composition.
The Cuesta College Registered Nursing program prepares students to sit for the National Licensure Examination leading to licensure as a Registered Nurse.

Applicants who submit completed application and meet the general admission requirements for the college and fulfill the program pre-requisites will be required to complete a Background Check and Drug Screen, at their own expense, before they are able to begin clinical and internship rotations in the facilities of our community partners. 

The El Camino Community College Associate Degree Nursing Program is a rigorous program intended to prepare students academically and personally for a career in nursing. The Nursing Program is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing and accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.

The program runs mandatory general orientation sessions each semester for prospective applicants and how to qualify for enrollment in the program.

The curriculum requires that nursing courses must be taken sequentially as should non nursing course not taken prior to entering the program. Applicants entering the program need to consult a nursing counselor for transferability of science courses.

Admissions Requirements:  

• Meet the requirements for entry to the college
• High school diploma  or GED equivalency certificate
• Valid Social Security Number
• Attend Mandatory Information Session
• Meet the pre-requisites for nursing program with a minimum of 2.5 GPA (completed within seven years before date of application)
• Complete a Nursing Program Verification form
• TEAS V Exam

Prospective applicants can contact Nursing Counselors can schedule an appointment with a counselor. The department of nursing will review applicant’s documents only after a complete application with all supporting documents has been submitted.

All complete applications will be reviewed and ranked according to the Multi-Criteria Enrollment criteria.  Students who receive a conditional offer can choose to accept or decline the offer.  

Graduates from the nursing program are eligible to apply to sit for the National Licensing Examination to be licensed to practice as Registered Nursing.

The Fresno City College Nursing program is designed to prepare students for the provision of health care services. The program equips students with the scientific knowledge and technical skills required in the nursing profession as well as leadership and managerial expertise.

In class instruction is offered at the Fresno City College campus while Nursing Clinical practice is provided for at selected hospitals and other healthcare facilities in the local community.

Students who successfully complete the program are awarded an Associate of Science degree and are eligible to sit for the National Nursing Licensing examination as preamble to working in a structured health care environment.     

The curriculum is covered in four semesters of 9 or more credits. Students are able to take additional credits every semester to complete the general education requirements for the program. The program also offers additional specialized nursing electives to supplement the nursing education being offered.

The program is quite intensive and it is not recommended that a student works more than 16 hours per week during the nursing part of the section to insure technical ability and be ready for the National Nursing Examination.    

The courses and credits offered in the ADN program are designed to be transferable towards a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  

The Los Angeles Harbor College, Associate Degree Registered Nursing Program has been preparing students to become Registered Nurses since 1963. The program is approved by the Board of Registered Nursing and is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.

The program prepares students to be eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination to be licensed as Registered Nurses.

The Registered Nursing program is four semesters in length without taking into consideration time taken to complete pre-requisite courses. The program combines in class room theoretical instruction with a range of clinical practice opportunities and small group discussions.

Clinical experience allows students to take part in simulated clinical situations, nursing skills laboratories and community based experiences in home healthcare agencies and hospitals.

Admission Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited High School or GED equivalency
• Acceptance as a fully matriculated student at LAHC
• Complete pre-requisite courses (for anatomy, physiology, and microbiology prerequisite courses with no grade less than “C” for each and no more than one repetition in any of these courses and English 101 and Psychology 1 with a “C” grade or more)
• Meet LAHC math requirement
• Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher for all college level coursework
• Achieve minimum score entrance exam for basic academic skills

The Los Angeles Southwest College Registered Nursing Program is a program that prepares students for an Associate of Science Degree with a major in Nursing.

Students who successfully complete the two year program are prepared to function in entry level nursing and take the National Council Licensing Examination (NCLEX-RN) leading to licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).

Application Processes:

• Contact the Nursing Office to attend a Nursing Applicant Information Session, where applicant will receive admission information including Nursing pre-requisite form, GPA verification form and TEAS. (Applications are only available at these sessions)
• Official Sealed transcripts (high school or GED equivalency and from all colleges and universities were pre-requisite college level coursework were preformed)
• Submit completed application and supporting materials between the 15th of January to the 15 of March and between the 15th July and 15th September.

Applications that are not presented with a complete set of supporting documentation will not be considered for the academic pool.

The most qualified candidates are admitted at the start of the semester following the application deadline. In the case of more qualified applicants than the number of seats allocated for the semester the selection process is conducted by a lottery purpose.

Applicants accepted into the program are expected to attend a mandatory all day Nursing Orientation meeting. A student who does not attend the orientation will forfeit his/her position which will be given to an alternate candidate. There is also a highly recommended six week Orientation to Nursing Class.

Students need to complete all courses in the Nursing program with a ‘C’ grade or higher to advance in the program and earn the Associate of Science Degree. 

The Los Angeles Valley Nursing Program is accredited by the National League for Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) and approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (CABRN).

The program accepts applications twice a year for enrollment in the Fall (April application period) or Spring (September application period) semesters.

Admissions Procedures:

• Submit LAVC college application
• Official high school transcript or GED equivalency
• Complete pre-requisite with a ‘C’ grade or better (with an “Evaluation of Transcripts for Nursing Program Prerequisites” signed by a college counselor). The pre-requisite courses include: Anatomy or physiology, Microbiology or General Microbiology with laboratory, English 101, Psychology and one college Chemistry course with laboratory, Math
• Apply to the Nursing program within the application period
• Submit TEAS V admission examination results

If the number of qualified candidates exceed the number of seats available for entrance into the nursing program a lottery will be used to randomly to select applicants.

All applicants will receive a letter of acceptance or denial from the nursing department after the admission procedure is completed.

Successful applicants must notify the nursing department of acceptance by the posted date or their seat will be offered to the next eligible applicant.

The school does not maintain a waiting list, meaning that all unsuccessful applicants must re-apply for the next application period to be considered again.

The Los Medanos Associate Degree Program in Nursing is a two year program in addition to the completion of pre-requisite courses.

The program is designed to prepare qualified graduates for entry level positions in nursing. The program focuses on addressing healthcare needs in a range of aspects including medicine, surgery, pediatric care, obstetrics and psychiatric healthcare settings.

The curriculum is offered in a combination of in class room theoretical instruction and practical experience in campus laboratories and clinical experience in a variety of medical facilities and health care agencies in the community.

Admission Requirements:

• An applicant needs to set an appointment with an admissions counselor
• Complete pre-requisite courses with a minimum of 3.0 GPA or higher
• Submit official transcripts for all college level coursework
• Take English and Math Assessment Tests
• Attend a New Student Orientation Workshop

The application period for the nursing program is between the January 2nd and the 1st of March.

Applications will be reviewed by the admissions department of the college and conditionally accepted students will be required to fulfill the specific requirements of the nursing program.

The Mendocino College Registered Nursing Program is approved by the California State Board of Registered Nursing. Students that successfully complete the two-year sequence of RN coursework receive an Associate of Science degree in Nursing and are eligible to sit for the RN licensure examination (NCLEX-RN).

The program is a two year full time study of sequential courses. The nursing courses are taken after the completion of pre-requisite college level courses and general education requirements.

Admissions Requirements:

• Complete application admission to Mendocino College
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalency certificate
• Successful completion of pre-requisite courses with a ‘C’ grade or better  and cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on college level coursework (All science courses need to have been taken within five years of application, a waiver for this condition may be requested on the basis of training, experience or education)
• Attendance at mandatory pre-application workshop

The Merritt College Associate of Science in nursing program is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing. The program is intended to prepare students for entry level positions in nursing.

Students who successfully complete the requirements of the program will be eligible to apply to sit for the state licensing examination for registered nurses (National Council Licensure Examination – NCLEX-RN).

The Merritt College ADN curriculum is a two year program including instruction in applied nursing sciences, related natural, social and behavioral sciences and clinical nursing experience in health care. The ADN program is taught over four semesters. Students must earn 75% or more in all nursing courses to continue in the program and graduate.  

Admissions Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalency certificate
• Complete pre-requisite college level courses with a GPA of 2.5 or above
• Submission of mandatory health record information as per the institutions requirements (including immunization records)
• CPR certification (AHA) to be kept current for the duration of enrollment

Applications for admission are accepted from the 2nd of January through the 1st of March for admission in the fall of the following academic year. Applications are only open once a year.

The Miracosta college Registered Nursing program prepares students with patient care in a range of healthcare settings.

The program emphasizes nursing theory and clinical practice for direct patient care. Students who successfully complete the Associate Degree in Nursing are eligible to apply for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses. Upon successful performance on the examination, they are licensed as registered nurses (RNs).

Admissions procedures:

• High school diploma or GED equivalency certificate
• Complete pre-requisite college level courses with a GPA of 2.5 or above  
• Submission of mandatory health record information as per the institutions requirements (including immunization records)

A point system using multi-criteria developed by the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office is used to accept students into the RN program. 90 percent of student admission is based on the point system, and 10 percent of admitted students will come from the established wait list.

Students accepted into the RN program must take the Test of Academic Skills (TEAS) and receive a composite score of 62 percent in order to begin the program. Students who do not receive at least a 62 percent will be counseled and have a remediation plan designed. They will have one year to complete the remediation plan before retesting for admittance. This program has been approved by the Board of Registered Nursing

The program is open to all applicants with an active California LVN license in good standing and with an overall cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 for all college coursework.

The LVN-RN program accepts few students and the admission process is very competitive. You should note that admission is not guaranteed even if all requirements are met.

Admission Requirements:

• One official transcript from each college and university attended
• Completion of pre-requisite science courses (Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, and Microbiology 5 semester units or equivalent) and English Composition, 3 semester units with a grade of C or better
• Satisfactory score on the TEAS V Test (at least 62%)

Applicants selected for enrollment in the program must have physical examination, laboratory tests, and immunizations just prior to starting the Nursing Program.

Affiliated clinical agencies mandate a background investigation (criminal history record search, SSN trace, Medicare/Medicaid fraud, and Nationwide Sex Offender Registry) must be completed before a student is able to take part in student clinical experience.

Modesto Junior College is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and has a full accreditation status. The nursing program uses the California Community College Chancellor’s Model for selection of program applicants. Applicants must achieve a Success Index score of 75 or higher to be qualified. Randomized selection will be used to select students from the pool of applicants with scores of 75 and above. The point system will be calculated on the basis of College GPA (English and Biology GPA).

Applications for admittance are accepted once a year between the 1st and the 31st of May and students are selected from this pool for admission in the fall and spring semesters. Applications are available from the Allied Health office and website during the application period only and only applications received before the deadline will be processed.

Conditionally accepted applicants will receive information regarding health clearance and the criminal background check, CPR certification, drug screen, and the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS). The health clearance and physical examination is designed to ensure that the applicant does not have any health conditions that are hazardous and includes documentation of required immunizations and a negative PPD skin test. The criminal background check is a requirement for clinical agencies for students undertaking clinical experience practice.

Students enrolled in the ADN program are required to complete all coursework with a ‘C’ grade or more to go on with the course and graduate in order to qualify for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). The California Board of Registered Nursing protects the public by screening applicants for licensure in order to identify potentially unsafe practitioners.

Mount St. Mary's College is an independent, Catholic, liberal arts college which provides a values-based undergraduate education for women, as well as innovative programs for professional men and women on two historic campuses in Los Angeles. The Mount is the only Catholic college primarily for women in the Western United States.

Admissions Requirements

• Admission to the Nursing program is based upon consideration of the completed application form, the student's academic achievement, personal statement and two satisfactory recommendations from individuals.
• Overall GPA of 2.75 and a Science GPA of 2.5

LVNs who meet the admission requirements for the program must also possess a current LVN license in good standing.

Candidates with previous Registered Nursing education may be given transfer credit for previous nursing courses equivalent to the Nursing Department courses. 

The Mt. San Antonio College Nursing Program is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing. The program is a two-year program designed to prepare students to give direct nursing care to clients in various practice settings.

The program consists of course work in nursing, science, general education and clinical nursing practice at local hospitals and health agencies.

Graduates of the program receive an Associate in Science Degree in Nursing and are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN examination leading to licensure as a Registered Nurse.

Admission Requirement

• All students will need to bring official proof of high school graduation, GED, or college graduation from an accredited institution in the United States.
• Complete pre-requisite courses (Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Microbiology all including a laboratory component )

Final Selection of students for each admitting period will be determined by random selection from a pool of qualified candidates.

Qualified candidates will be expected to submit to a criminal background check and drug screening must be completed prior to any patient contact. A physical examination, including specific immunizations is required of all candidates prior to the beginning of nursing classes.

The program also requires Current Level C-Provider CPR certification. The California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) protects the consumer by screening applicants for licensure in order to identify potentially unsafe practitioners.

The Mt. San Jacinto College ADN Program is a four semester program which prepares students to sit for the NCLEX RN exam. The program consists of 78 units and is a combination of theoretical classes and clinical practice at a range of health care facilities around the college.

Basic Admissions Requirements:

• Complete orientation and assessment
• High school diploma or GED
• Submit official transcripts for all college level coursework
• Complete pre-requisite courses 

Applications are accepted from the 1st of February to the 28th of February for enrollment in the following fall semester. Admissions to the program will be based on a Multi Criteria Selection following the completion of program pre-requisites. Applicants who score the highest rank based on the criteria will be provisionally accepted into the program and be notified via email 4 to 6 weeks after the application period. Admission will be offered to the highest ranked applicants with full documentary support. 

The Ohlone College Nursing program offering an Associate of Science to prepare students to become Registered Nurses is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) and the California Board of Registered Nurses (BRN).

Students who complete the program successfully are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses leading to licensure as Registered Nurse.

The program was commended by the California Board of Registered Nurses (BRN) in August 2005 for “Innovation and Leadership”.

Admission Requirements:

A student is expected to take the TEAS V test and score a minimum score of 62 before applying for the program.

Applications to the program are initially processed through random selection. A student who has been accepted into the program through the random process is required to present:

• Current CPR certification for health care providers from the American Heart Association to remain valid during the course of the enrollment period
• Proof of a physical exam provided by your health care provider (including tuberculin test)
• Proof of immunizations (proof of immunity from Rubella, Measles, Hepatitis B, Varicella, proof tetanus injection)
• Submit to a criminal background check which may affect licensure as Registered Nurse
• Submit to a urine drug test

The Saddleback College Registered Nursing Program is a National League for Nursing (NLNAC) and Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) accredited Program.

The program is intended to provide the education necessary to develop competent nursing practitioners as a base for the continuing development of the student. Students who complete the nursing program allow the student to sit for the State of California NCLEX examination to be licensed as a Registered Nurse.

Admission Requirements:

• 18 years old or older
• Complete application for Saddleback College to obtain a student ID to apply to the RN program
• Submit official transcripts from other colleges/universities other than Saddleback for pre-requisite courses and nursing curriculum courses
• Completion with a 2.8 GPA or better in the following science pre-requisites: BIO 11, BIO 12, BIO 15.
• Completion of English 1A or the equivalent with a “C” or better
• TEAS score 62% and above

Attending one of the two information sessions offered every semester, is highly recommended (but not mandatory) for all applicants. Dates for information sessions are posted on the website.  

Applications deadlines are 15th-30th June for Spring enrollment and February for Fall enrollment.

Students accepted into the Saddleback College Associate Degree Nursing Program requires background checks as required by the Joint for clinical practice in health care facilities  that are required to maintain criminal background checks for students and volunteers involved in patient care.

Students also need to have a physical examination within three months of the date of admission into the nursing program.

The San Bernardino Valley College Nursing program is fully approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing and accredited by the NLNAC. Students who successfully complete the program are eligible to apply to sit for the licensure exam to become a Registered Nurse.

The program instructs students in patient care through direct experience at the college campus and in healthcare agencies based in the local area.

The nursing program is four semesters long not including time taken for pre-requisite courses.  Classes and clinical experiences are scheduled Monday through Friday (daytime and evenings). The Nursing program admits students twice a year in the fall and spring semesters.

Basic Admissions Requirements:

• Submit application to the College (can also be done online)
• Official high school diploma or GED equivalency certificate
• Complete all Nursing pre-requisite courses
• Official college transcripts from all colleges or universities attended

Fall semester deadline is February 1 and for Spring semester entry September 1. 

The college uses a random selection, if the number of applicants who fulfill the requirements exceed the number of spaces available.

San Diego City College offers a comprehensive Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program, designed to prepare students for the NCLEX-RN exam and subsequent licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in California.

Admission Requirements

Admission to the ADN program at San Diego City College is competitive and involves several key requirements:

• Prerequisites: Applicants must complete the following prerequisite courses with a minimum grade of "C":
  • Anatomy (with lab)
  • Physiology (with lab)
  • Microbiology (with lab)
  • English Composition
• GPA Requirements: A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required in the prerequisite courses.
• Background and Health Checks: Accepted students must undergo a background check and a health examination, including immunizations, prior to beginning the program.
• Entrance Exam: Applicants must take the ATI TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) exam. A minimum score of 62% is required to be considered for admission.

Application Deadlines

The ADN program has specific application periods:

• Fall Admission: Applications are typically accepted from February 1 to February 28.
• Spring Admission: Applications are accepted from August 1 to August 31.

Program Mode and Structure

The ADN program at San Diego City College is delivered primarily in-person, requiring students to attend classes on campus. The program also includes clinical rotations at various healthcare facilities in the San Diego area, providing hands-on experience in real-world healthcare settings.

Clinical Rotations

The San Joaquin Valley College's Licensed Vocational Nursing Program is approved by the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.

The Santa Monica College Associate Degree in Nursing program prepares students to meet the standards of the California Board of Registered Nursing. This program is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing and accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.

Graduates from the program are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) to become a Registered Nurse.

Admissions Requirements:

• High school diploma  or GED equivalence,
• Official college transcripts from ALL colleges attended
• Take and achieve the required Admissions Assessment score.
• Fulfill all pre-requisite courses

The college will notify accepted applicants an acceptance letter for the either the fall or spring semester. Approximately 50 students are accepted into the program each semester and are notified by mail.

Transfer students are required to meet the same standard for admission in addition to successful completion of Nursing courses. There are limited spaces for this type of entry.

Students enrolled in the program must pass all courses in the nursing curriculum with a minimum of a ‘C’ grade to progress to the next course, graduate or apply for licensure.
