The Casper College Nursing program is a two year program leading to either the Associate of Science or the Associate of Applied Science Degree is made up of a combination of selected general education courses with required theoretical and clinical nursing courses.
Admissions Requirements:
Successful applicants will be sent a notification letters with instructions for registration. The student will be assigned a nursing faculty academic advisor.
The nursing program reviews the cognitive, sensory, affective and psychomotor performance of an applicant as part of its admission and progression processes.
The Core Performance Standards Developed by the college are used to determine which applicants meet the necessary programs for admission and progression in the program.
The Central Wyoming College Nursing Program leads to an associate of applied science degree in nursing. The program is approved by the Wyoming State Board of Nursing and is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
The 76 credit program requires students to complete all degree courses with a ‘C’ grade or higher.
The curriculum incorporates clinical simulations in alongside regular in classroom and clinical instruction. The laboratory can also be used for continued education and refresher courses legally mandated for healthcare professionals.
Admissions Requirements:
The application deadline for the program is the 1st of March for enrollment in the fall semester. The program is highly competitive with just 32 students accepted to enter the program at the main Riverton Campus and 8 selected for distant site in Jackson Hole.
The Nursing Admission Committee will notify applicants of its decision approximately six weeks after the application deadline.
The Sheridan College Nursing program offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree with an optional Practical Nursing Track after one year. The program is approved by the Wyoming State Board of Nursing and accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
The ADN program combines theoretical in classroom instruction and clinical practice. Students who successfully complete the program are eligible to apply sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
Students must complete both the classroom and clinical components for students to go on to the next level on the program as indentified by the sequential course order.
Non nursing requirements must be completed before or concurrently with identified nursing courses. Students are expected to maintain a C grade or higher on all nursing and science courses.
Admissions Requirements:
The nursing program only accepts a limited number of students into the program. An applicant is conditionally accepted into the program on the basis of the total points earned according to the criteria above.
The program requires a criminal background check, health check including required immunizations CPR certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers), drug screen and liability insurance before full admission is awarded.
The North West College nursing program offers a two year, four semester entry to students seeking to work as a Registered Nurse.
The program offers a solid foundational instruction in the theoretical and practical aspects of a profession in a health care setting. Students who successfully complete will be eligible to apply to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nursing to be licensed as a Registered Nurse.
All courses in the program are offered in a sequential for with the corresponding co-requisite courses each semester. Students are expected to complete all Nursing and General Education courses with a minimum of a ‘C’ grade or higher to be able to progress to the next semester and to graduate. Students can complete General Requisites ahead of the program but not any later.
Admission Requirements:
Deadline for applications is the First Friday in March. Applicants who submit completed application packages by this deadline will be given priority.
Applicants will be selected on the basis of the competitiveness of test scores and grades earned for required courses. All applicants will receive a letter mid-April stating the status of their acceptance into the program from the Nursing director.
