The Pacific Lutheran University Nursing program offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The program is designed for students with no prior nursing experience.

A student can complete the program in three years of full time study excluding time taken to complete prerequisite courses.

Students who successfully complete the program are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination to be licensed as a Registered Nurse to serve as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington State.

Nursing courses are offered sequentially with the successful completion of prerequisites in one semester required for enrollment in courses in the following semester. Students must complete all general Education prerequisites and CORE requirements with the minimum established grade as well as completing all nursing courses with a minimum of a ‘C’ grade before graduation.

Admission Requirements:

  1. Application to the college
  2. Complete (or be in the process of completing) all prerequisite courses at an accredited institution (with a minimum of a 2.0 GPA)
  3. Completion of a minimum of 30 semester credits of college level course work (a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher is required)

Applicants will be required to submit proof of physical health and demonstrable fluency in written and spoken English. Prospective students will also be required to submit to a local and national criminal background check.

The Seattle Pacific University offers a Bachelor of Science Degree program offers a four year curriculum which is a combination of theoretical in class instruction and practical clinical experience.   

Admission Requirements:

  • Formal application to the nursing program
  • Official transcripts for prerequisite courses taken with course descriptions attached for all courses taken at another institution (all perquisite courses need to be completed with a minimum of a ‘C’ grade with anything below a ‘C’ unacceptable
  • Professional Recommendations
  • Healthcare related work experience or volunteer experience
  • Proof of clear communication skills

The application process will be based on a combined evaluation of scores earned for prerequisite course work, excellent professional staff   experience in the healthcare setting. Applications will be processed online. All applicants will be informed about the status of their application by mail. Applications for enrollment are accepted through the 15th of January.

For transfer students: If you are in the process of completing a BSN Degree or an ADN, you need to have completed all requirements for the program you are enrolled in before beginning in the nursing program.

The Seattle University School of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science Degree for students seeking to be employed in a range of healthcare facilities. The program prepares students for National Council of Licensure licensing examination for Registered Nurses.

Students are accepted as freshman students and are not required to reapply for admission to the nursing program as long as they are able to maintain a 2.75 GPA for all courses and a 3.0 for program prerequisite courses.

Seattle University offers a large clinical laboratory with high tech simulation capabilities to enable students to get hands on experience and to acquire confidence before coming into contact with real patients.

Students who successfully complete the program are eligible to apply  to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination to become a licensed Registered Nurse.
