The Bon Secours BSN program offers a curriculum that consists of 68 nursing credits and 56 general education credits totaling 124 credits culminating in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.

The curriculum is designed to offer progressive coursework in a sequential manner with all pre-requisite courses needing to be completed in the designated order before a student can progress.

The program offers entrance in the traditional track for students with the no nursing background seeking to become a Registered Nurse. The second track offers Registered Nurses wishing to complete their BSN qualifications in an online program (RN to BSN).

Applications are accepted to the program for enrollment in the fall and spring semesters. Application deadline for the fall semester is on the 15th of March while the deadline for admission in spring is the 31st of August for the traditional track.

Applications deadline for the RN to BSN Online Program is the 30th of April for Fall admission and the 30th of September for spring admission.

The GMU BSN Program allows three tracks of entry into the BSN program with the first track being a two year curriculum for full time study following the completion of nursing pre-requisite and general education college level requirements.

The second track is a mobility program for RNs with current unencumbered licenses to pursue a BSN and to be completed in one year of full time study without considering perquisite and general education coursework. The other accelerated BSN program is open to students who possess Bachelor degrees in another field and  is intended to be completed in one year of full time study.

The program admits students who have already completed the pre-nursing curriculum in two years of full time college enrollment to be admitted into the nursing program in the fall of their junior year for the first two tracks and either spring or fall for the third track.

Admission to the program is competitive with qualified candidates ranked on the basis of their application documents. All applicants accepted into the BSN program are required to submit health clearance including immunization series.

All students must also have current CPR certification for health care providers and current health insurance for clinical components.

BSN students, except RN-BSN candidates will be required to take part in preparation for the National Council Licensure Examination in a manner that is integrated into all components of the curriculum as well as in exam format.

The Liberty University BSN program is designed to prepare ethical nurses committed to Christian values.

The nursing curriculum is a composite of courses from the arts, sciences and the Bible in addition to academic and clinical nursing courses.

The program is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and is approved by the Virginia State Board of Nursing.

The curriculum for the BSN program is a composite of academic and clinical nursing as well as general education coursework as required by the universities Liberal Arts Core and University Requirements. The general education requirements can be met through transfer credits.

The program offers three main entry points. The first entry point is for students enrolling into the nursing program as freshman. Applicants to this track are required to show proof high school completion, cumulative high school grade point average and SAT scores.

Students admitted to the program as freshman are expected to complete nursing prerequisite course with a minimum of a C grade and a 2.5 GPA. Freshman will sit for the TEAS exam and present a written statement before enrollment in nursing courses.

The second entry point is offered to students transferring from another profession (Accelerated BSN). Admission will be based on an acceptable GPA for all courses being transferred and a competitive TEAS score.

The third entry point is the RN to BSN hybrid online program designed for students who possess an Associate of Applied Science degree and those who have a nursing diploma. Applicants to this program need to have completed at least 31 credits of transferable credits and need to have a current unencumbered license.

The program admits students in the fall and spring semesters on a competitive basis. Most students including transfer  students will require a minimum of six semesters to complete the program as the curriculum is offered sequentially according to the program indicated in the degree plan.

The Radford University Nursing program offers a foundational education in liberal arts, behavioral sciences, basic and applied sciences and social sciences in addition to academic and practical nursing courses culminating in the BSN degree.

The program has been approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing and has full accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

Students who successfully complete the program are eligible to apply to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination to become licensed Registered Nurses.

Admission Requirements:

Students who enroll in Radford University as full time freshmen with a declared pre-nursing major officially enter the nursing program with a priority admission after completing a minimum of 124 semester hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.5.

Students transferring into the nursing from another college or university need to have a 2.8 cumulative grade point average with a minimum of a ‘C’ grade in all prerequisite courses.

The Jefferson College of Health Sciences, BSN program curriculum combines clinical experience with academic instruction leading up to the BSN degree. All graduates from the program are eligible to apply to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination to be licensed as Registered Nurses.

Admissions:

All applicants are required to present official high school transcripts and college transcripts as applicable. The admission process at Jefferson is a modified rolling admissions with applications being received in July and processed throughout the academic year. Applicants need to fill out the application and present SAT or ACT scores if applicable.

Applicants who possess an Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing can enroll with advanced placement to qualify for a RN to BSN degree. RN’s applying to this program need to possess a current unencumbered license from any state or territory of the United States.

Students wishing to transfer credits taken at an accredited College or University need to submit all applicable transcripts for Transfer Credit Evaluation. Only courses in which the applicant has earned a minimum of a ‘C’ grade will be considered. All courses will be reviewed on an individual basis.

The Sentara BSN Program prepares students for professions in entry level nursing. The SCHS is institutionally accredited by the national accreditor, Association of Independent Colleges and Schools and the BSN program is accredited by CCNE.

The traditional track is designed for non-licensed individuals offering 73 credit hours of a combination of academic courses and clinical and laboratory experience.

Clinical experiences are offered at various times at a range of healthcare facilities and premium clinical sites. Students are admitted in the BSN program once in an academic year.

Graduates from the program are eligible to apply for the Licensure Examination administered by the State Board of Nursing.

The Shenandoah University Traditional BSN program is a four year track designed for students who are just entering the program as freshmen for full time instruction with a combination of nursing and general education courses beginning from the first semester of enrollment. Students are encouraged to take the opportunities made available to work in healthcare settings during summers.

The university also provides a transfer track into the program that is intended for students who have already completed all general education requirements and pre-requisite courses. Transfer students are accepted in the fall or in the spring semesters for five academic semesters of full time instruction.

The other track,  RN to BSN  offers advanced placement entry for Registered Nurses who have a diploma in nursing or an associate degree. RNs can transfer general education credits and nursing courses taken at an accredited institute to complete the BSN in two semesters of full time enrollment of three to six semesters of part time study.

The last track is second degree BSN/accelerated BSN is a 15 month program designed for students who already have a baccalaureate degree in a nursing program.

The South University BSN program can be completed in seven quarters of full time study. Most students (about 91%) complete the program in time (almost in 40 months).

The program requires students to complete college algebra prior to applying to the program. The program also requires two math or science electives.

The Lynchburg College BSN program is based on a curriculum, which combines liberal arts, sciences, theoretical nursing and clinical practice instruction. The program is designed to prepare students according to the standards of practice set by the American Nurses Association.

Students in the program will take part in a range of clinical experience opportunities in a range of hospital and other healthcare settings with the primary location being the Centra Hospitals in Lynchburg.

Freshman entering the college interested in the nursing program must identify the program as their designated choice and fill a separate application to the program by the 1st of April of the freshman year. Applications to the program will be reviewed at the end of the spring semester.

Transfer students are required to submit applications to the college and the program by the 1st of April as do applicants with degrees in other fields.

The University of Virginia at Wise BSN program offers a curriculum which combines general education requirements and upper division nursing major requirements.

Applicants are accepted into the nursing major in the fall semester of the sophomore year of college, having completed all the general education requirements and nursing prerequisite prior to admission.

Admission Requirements:

Cumulative GPA of 2.0 for all general education requirements and a 2.3 for all nursing coursework.

The college requires that all students transferring into the program must demonstrably show character qualities which are consistent with the academic pursuit and professional practice of nursing.

All regular admission requirements of the college hold for applicants to the nursing program. Applications must include all official transcripts for college level coursework including nursing practicals.

If you are enrolling for the RN to BSN track, you must have graduated from a state approved nursing program and a regionally accredited community college and must be an RN with a clinical experience.

The second track into the nursing program is the Accelerated BSN track for applicants who have a baccalaureate degree in a non nursing field with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on all college level coursework.

The third track of entry into the program is the Registered Nurse to BSN Completion Program. Applicants to this track need to be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with an ADN or a nursing diploma with a minimum grade point of average of 2.5 on all college level coursework. The applicant is required to possess a current unencumbered Registered Nursing to practice in the state.
