Program Length & Format

• 4 consecutive semesters

Admission Requirements

• Must have 60+ college credits or a bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing field from a regionally accredited institution
• Preferred minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale from undergraduate coursework
• Minimum grade of C or better in prerequisite courses
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 in prerequisite courses required before program start
• Two letters of recommendation required
• Current resume required
• Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions required

Prerequisites

• Ethics (3 semester hours)
• Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II with labs (6-8 semester hours)
• Microbiology with lab (3-4 semester hours)
• Nutrition (3 semester hours)
• Statistics (3 semester hours)
• English Composition (6 semester hours)
• Humanities/Social Sciences (9 semester hours total: 6 social sciences, 3 humanities)
• Math (3 semester hours)
• Natural Sciences (12 semester hours, usually fulfilled by anatomy, physiology, microbiology)
• Recommended courses: Developmental Psychology, General Chemistry
• All prerequisites must be completed with minimum 3.0 GPA before program start

Clinical & Simulation Lab

• 540 clinical hours required
• Clinical rotations at healthcare facilities in greater Washington, D.C. area, including specialties: medical-surgical, obstetrics, pediatrics, psychiatric nursing, community health
• Clinical placement assisted by dedicated placement team
• Simulation learning includes high-fidelity simulators, standardized patients, interactive online modules
• Integrated NCLEX preparation with live review before graduation
