SUNY Westchester Community College
SUNY Westchester Community College (WCC) is located in Valhalla, New York and is a part of the State University of New York (SUNY) college system. WCC is a public two-year community college that was established back in 1946. The school has a great history and has always sought to uphold its motto of “building minds, building futures”. WCC currently serves more than 11,000 students. Students will be able to take part in many different associate’s degree programs at WCC and there are also many transfer options in place for those who wish to continue their educations at four-year universities.
The WCC nursing program has proven itself to be one of the best programs in the area. This school offers students a two-year associate’s degree in nursing program. There are advanced placement options for existing LPNs. It is also possible to transfer from this associate’s degree program to a larger four-year university in the pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in nursing. The curriculum of the WCC nursing program is varied and will involve classroom experiences as well as clinical opportunities at various clinical agencies. Students will be responsible for their own transportation. The WCC nursing education program has full accreditation of the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
