Suffolk County Community College
Suffolk County Community College (SCCC) is located in Selden, New York and is a part of the State University of New York (SUNY) college system. SCCC was established back in 1959 and the 555-acre campus currently serves more than 26,000 students. Students are able to take advantage of a large number of associate’s degree programs in various fields of study and many certificate programs as well. SCCC even has college art galleries where student art exhibitions are displayed. Students can also enjoy the athletics department at this school as it has traditionally been a successful part of the NJCAA Division III.
The SCCC nursing program gives students the chance to pursue the practical nursing program or the associate’s degree in nursing program. LPN-to-RN placement options are available for those who qualify. Students will also have RN-to-BSN transfer opportunities due to the many partnerships that SCCC has formed with four-year universities. All nursing programs will feature classroom instruction, laboratory experiences, and clinical experiences. The SCCC school of nursing is a member of the National Association for Associate Degree Nursing (NOADN). This nursing program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
