RN to BSN Programs in New York

Program Length & Format

• 5 consecutive semesters (two academic years with one summer session in between)
• Designed for students transferring with an associate's or bachelor's degree (60–90 transfer credits)
• 56 credits in Nursing; 49 credits in supporting coursework
• Primarily full-time; students take 11–13 Nursing major credits per semester
• Courses offered on campus in evening format; class times 6:45–9:55 pm on weekdays

Admission Requirements

• Minimum cumulative GPA 2.75 on previous college coursework
• Applicants must be transfer students with 60–90 credits from prior institutions
• Required prerequisite courses must be earned with a C or higher
• In-person science courses only; science courses must have been taken within the last 10 years

• BIO 1030 Anatomy and Physiology I with lab (4 credits)
• BIO 1040 Anatomy and Physiology II with lab (4 credits)
• BIO 2020 Microbiology with lab (4 credits)
• CHM 1080 Nursing Chemistry Fundamentals with lab (4 credits)
• PSY 1010 General Psychology
• PSY 3050 Developmental Psychology
• ENG 1010 College Writing
• Any Sociology course

Deadlines

• Application deadline for program entry: June 1 (fall start date only)

Application

• Completed application
• Official transcripts from each college attended
• Official high school transcript required if applicant has fewer than 24 college credits
• No application fee for transfer applicants

Clinical & Simulation Lab

• First hands-on lab experience as early as first Nursing semester; clinical placements begin in the second Nursing semester
• Clinical placements correlate with courses and may include acute care, emergency, and labor and delivery
• Clinical hours can be scheduled any day of the week, including weekends and evenings
• Dedicated simulation lab on campus, including a birthing simulator
• Clinical affiliation partners include Albany Medical Center, Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Orange Regional Medical Center, NY Presbyterian Hospital Westchester, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

Credit Transfer

• Accepts up to 90 transfer credits
• Accepts up to 66 credits from a 2-year associate degree
• Registrar conducts a credit evaluation to determine transferable credits and degree completion timeline

Cost & Financial Aid

• Eligible for scholarships up to $19,000 per academic year
• Financial aid application via FAFSA (school code 002778)
