Vance-Granville Community College
Vance-Granville Community College (VGCC) is located in Henderson, North Carolina and is a part of the North Carolina Community College System. VGCC was established in 1969and was formerly known as the Vance County Technical Institute. It has continued to grow in scope and it now offers students various certificate, diploma, and associate’s degree options. VGCC has the full accreditation of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The school also offers many men's and women's team sports and is a part of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) in Region 10.
The VGCC nursing program has both practical nursing and an associate’s degree in nursing program. There is also an LPN-to-ADN transition program that students will be able to take advantage of. An RN to BSN program is available to students as well through a partnership with NC A&T. This allows students to seamlessly transfer over to the larger university to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Students will learn all of the proper skills and knowledge that is required to succeed as nurses. The nursing programs at this school are approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
