Edgecombe Community College
Edgecombe Community College (ECC) is located in Tarboro, North Carolina and serves more than 2,000 students currently. ECC was established back in 1967as Wilson County Technical Institute but changed its name back in 1987 when the campus expanded in size. This school boasts a campus that is 120 acres in size and has 11 buildings. ECC offers students in the area more than 200 academic degrees, diplomas, and certificates. Students can find great workplace training at this school as well as many robust associate’s degree programs.
The ECC nursing program has proven to be one of the most popular areas of study in the entire school. ECC students will be able to sign up for the practical nursing program or the associate’s degree nursing program. Students who already have achieved LPN status can seek advanced placement in the ADN program. There is also a bachelor’s of science in nursing transfer program through East Carolina University that students can enjoy. All nursing students in this program will be taught to practice in a dynamic environment. The curriculum will involve both classroom experiences and clinical experiences in assigned healthcare agencies. The ECC nursing program has the accreditation of the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
