Halifax Community College
Halifax Community College is located in Weldon, North Carolina and is part of the North Carolina Community College System. Halifax was established back in 1967 and is among the oldest community colleges in North Carolina. It is a member of the American Association of Community Colleges and it offers many associate’s degree programs. There are also a large number of continuing education programs at this school for the community to take part in. It is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Students can even take advantage of various transfer opportunities when they choose to attend this school.
The Halifax Community College nursing program offers students practical nursing courses or they can pursue becoming registered nurses on the associate’s degree in nursing path. There are options for current LPNs to transfer to the RN program as well. This program has the approval of the North Carolina Board of Nursing. The curriculum is varied, and all of the instructors are very knowledgeable. Nursing students who graduate from this school go on to find success in their field with relative ease.
