Johnston Community College
Johnston Community College (JCC) is located in Smithfield, North Carolina and is a member of the North Carolina Community College System. JCC was established back in 1969 and it now serves approximately 6000 students. The school boasts a 175-acre main campus with 11 different buildings. It even has an auditorium that is capable of seating over 1000 people. It offers students various associate’s degree, certificate, and diploma opportunities. The school has been fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. JCC even has the distinction of being the home of the North Carolina Truck Driver Training School. This is the oldest truck driving school in the entire United States and is one of the most popular options at JCC.
Another popular option at JCC is the nursing program. This nursing program allows students to pursue associate’s degrees in nursing. There are even advanced placement options for LPNs who are able to qualify. Students will be able to enjoy special RN-to-BSN transfer options. Those who wish to transfer so that they can pursue bachelor’s degree in nursing will be able to do so seamlessly when they attend this school. JCC students who graduate go on to succeed at a very high rate when taking the NCLEX-RN licensure exam. RegisteredNursing.org has even ranked this school number four for best RN programs in North Carolina. The JCC nursing program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
