James Sprunt Community College
James Sprunt Community College (JSCC) is located in Kenansville, North Carolina. JSCC was founded back in 1960 and it was known as James Sprunt Technical Institute back then. This college has been named for a revered Scottish immigrant named James Menzies Sprunt who became a teacher, a Presbyterian minister, and a long-time pastor at a church in Kenansville. This is a very inclusive school that seeks to serve all students equally regardless of age, sex, race, color, creed, or nationality. There are many associate’s degree programs as well as certificate options and diploma programs. Students will find many transfer options at this school when they wish to pursue bachelor’s degree programs at four-year universities. JSCC also has distance learning options for the convenience of the student population.
The JSCC nursing program allows students to work toward earning associate’s degrees in nursing. There are some advanced placement options for current LPNs who qualify. Nursing students at JSCC will be able to learn everything that they need to know to become qualified registered nurses and will be completely ready to take the NCLEX-RN licensure exam upon graduation. This nursing program is approved by the North Carolina State Board of Nursing.
