Chemeketa Community College
Chemeketa Community College is located in Salem, Oregon. This community college was established back in 1969 and it now serves just a little under 30,000 students. Students can earn associate’s degrees and certificates in more than 40 different programs. The school also has a number of transfer agreements that will allow for the easy transfer of credits to larger four-year universities. This school has been completely accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
The Chemeketa Community College nursing program offers students the opportunity to learn the necessary skills to become licensed practical nurses (LPN) or registered nurses (RN). It is a tiered program that allows students to learn the necessary skills to become LPNs before moving on to the second year to continue the RN educational path and earn associate’s degrees. There is also an opportunity for current LPNs to transfer to the RN program and receive advanced placement. Students will be able to take advantage of transfer opportunities in order to pursue bachelor’s degrees in nursing as well. This nursing program has been approved by the Oregon State Board of Nursing and is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
