Oregon Coast Community College
Oregon Coast Community College (OCCC) is located in Newport, Oregon. OCCC was established in 1987 and it currently has more than 2000 students enrolled in its various degree and certificate programs. It is a school with generally small class sizes where students can receive more individual attention than at many other community colleges. OCCC is even known for offering certain unique academic opportunities. For example, it is the only college in the United States that offers a degree program in aquarium science. Students are able to receive a very thorough education at this school that will help them to find success in their professional lives.
The OCCC nursing program offers students the chance to pursue becoming either licensed practical nurses (LPN) or registered nurses (RN). With both a practical nursing certificate program and an associate’s degree in nursing program, this school has many options for prospective nursing students. The curriculum of this program is designed to prepare students for the NCLEX licensure exam. The OCCC nursing program also has an agreement with Linfield College to offer co-enrollment. This allows students to pursue bachelor’s degrees in nursing.
