Nursing Programs
The J. Sargeant Reynolds ADN program is fully approved by Virginia state board of nursing and students who successfully complete the program will be eligible to apply to sit for NCLEX.
Additional Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalency certificate
- Enroll in Pre-Nursing and Allied Health Career Studies Certificate (cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher)
- Complete required science and general education courses
- Transcripts for all college level coursework (Minimum of a ‘C’ grade)
- Kaplan Nursing Admission Test
Admission to the nursing program is competitive. Qualified candidates will be ranked on the basis of their Kaplan Nursing Admission Test scores and the various components of their application.
Deadlines for applications for entry into the nursing program are on the 4th Monday of every September for enrollment in the spring semester, on the 4th Monday in January of each year for the summer quarter and on the 4th of Monday in March of each year for admission in the fall quarter.
LPNs and transfer students who have completed at least one semester of nursing classes with clinical practice are eligible to apply for advanced placement. Applicants seeking advanced placement need to meet all application requirements including transcripts.
Transfer applicants need to present a written statement from their previous school establishing that they are students in good standing eligible to progress in the program.
All students who enter the program are required participate in a compulsory information session.
