Nursing Programs

The Nursing program is approved by the Virginia State Board of Nursing and is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.

The nursing program offers students two tracks with the first ‘Traditional Track’ consisting of four semester with no summer requirements while the second Accelerated Online/Hybrid route offers four consecutive semesters of theoretical instruction online.

Licensed Practical Nurses seeking to transition into the RN program are eligible for the LPN to RN Transition program. This track acknowledges prior education and skills in the admission process.  

Admission Requirements:

  • Application and acceptance to the college
  • Be 18 years or older
  • High School diploma or GED equivalency certificate
  • Acceptable placement test scores
  • Complete prerequisite science and math courses (minimum of a ‘C’ grade or better)
  • A minimum of 2.5 cumulative grade point average on all transcripts
  • Current CPR certification for healthcare providers from the American Heart Association
  • Complete health assessment form including all required immunization series

Applicants enrolled in clinical components or seeking licensing may be required to submit criminal background check as the state can prohibit convicted felons from licensure.
