The Delaware State University offers advanced education to students who have a baccalaureate degree and show the ability to carry out graduate level course work.

Admission Requirements:

  1. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university
  2. Official Transcript for all undergraduate and graduate level coursework
  3. Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.5 and a scholastic average of 3.0 in undergraduate coursework
  4. Graduate Record Examination, Graduate Management Admission Test or Miller Analogies Test as required

Applications are expected on a rolling basis. The university retains the applications for unsuccessful applicants for two years. Applicants are accepted on an unconditional, provisional and non-degree admission basis.

Unconditional admission requires the applicant to meet all the requirements for the program and applicants are accepted on a provision basis if they don’t meet all prerequisites but have a baccalaureate degree from a fully accredited college or university.

The Wilmington University Master of Science in Nursing Program is designed to prepare nurses for advanced practice. The program is intended to enable students to synthesize nursing theory, nursing experience, and research knowledge.

The various nurse practitioner tracks are intended to enable nurses to meet the standards for advanced registered nurse practice set by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and by the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center. The curriculum also adheres to the accreditation standards of the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.

Admission Requirements:

  1. Graduate application for admission
  2. Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited program
  3. Official transcripts detailing satisfactory completion of a baccalaureate program
  4. Minimum of a ‘C’ grade in an undergraduate statistics course and a health assessment course
  5. Current, valid and unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse
  6. Written statement describing professional goals
  7. Professional Resume
  8. Interview with the department of nursing

The program accepts applications for admission in the fall and spring semesters. The application deadline for admission in the fall semester is the 1st of April and the application for admission in the spring semester is the 1st of September.
