Southwestern Community College
Southwestern Community College is located in Sylva, North Carolina. This school has been serving the community in some form since 1964 and has gone through several name changes over the years. The school now serves more than 8000 students and it provides them all with associate’s degree, diploma, and programs. As the school is a member of the North Carolina Community College System, students will also be able to enjoy various transfer options to four-year universities.
The Southwestern Community College nursing program gives students the opportunity to earn associate’s degrees. The school also offers some advanced placement opportunities for current LPNs if they are qualified. This program seeks to give nursing students the knowledge they need in order to meet the demands of patients in a number of different medical settings. There is also an RN to BSN program at this school that is made possible due to a partnership with Western Carolina University. This allows nursing students from this school to seamlessly transition into the BSN program at WCU. Students can receive a complete education at this school that will prepare them for the future.
