Coastal Alabama is a member of Alabama Community College System which consistents of twenty-three higher education and career development institutions. Coastal Alabama community college is formed through the consolidation of Alabama Southern Community College, Faulkner State Community College, and Jefferson Davis Community College at the end of 2016.
The institution offers various nursing programs including LPN, ADN and mobility programs such as LPN-to-ADN and paramedic-to-ADN in the following campuses: Bay Minette, Fairhope, Brewton, Atmore, Monroeville, and Thomasville.
Admission into Coastal Alabama nursing programs is based upon point based system which takes ACT and nursing prerequisites GPA into consideration.

Nursing Programs
The Licensed Practical Nursing program is designed to produce graduates who are caring, knowledgeable and competitive in the job market. The college ensures this by having suitably qualified instructors, modern laboratories and clinical experiences. The FSCC licensed nursing program is accredited by the NLNAC. After successfully graduating, students may apply to take the NCLEX-PN.
The LPN program is offered as a full time day program. Students are supposed to complete the 50 credit hours in 3 semesters as per the schedule. Both general and nursing knowledge is imparted on the students to increase their technical skills required in the nursing profession.
Core courses in the curriculum include the Fundamentals of Nursing, Pharmacology, Adult Nursing, Maternal and Child Nursing, Psychosocial Nursing and Role transition. The program starts at the fall semester and is offered at Fairhope campus. The deadline for application to the program is June 1.
Admission Requirments
The Nursing program is highly competitive. Prospective students must apply to be considered for admission. Similarly, prior to application, a student must have passed the TEAS V examination. Students are highly advised to seek the services of a nursing advisor who will advise them accordingly on matters related to our LPN program.
The college offers review to students prior to taking the NCLEX exams. The review ensures students are adequately prepared for the examination.
