Program Length & Format

  • 14-month

Admission Requirements

  • Completion of foreign language requirement (two semesters college-level or equivalent high school coursework) with minimum C grade if taken in college
  • Prerequisites and GPA calculations consider all course attempts without forgiveness

Application Deadlines

  • NursingCAS application opens October 1, 2025 for ABSN Summer 2026 cohort
  • NursingCAS application deadline: January 13, 2026 for Summer 2026 enrollment
  • Supplemental application deadline coincides with NursingCAS deadline
  • Transcripts and required documents must be submitted and verified by January 13, 2026
  • Application status must be verified in NursingCAS by January 13, 2026 to avoid reapplication in the next cycle

Prerequisites

  • Completion of 60 credit hours of prerequisite courses before enrollment
  • Core Area I: English Composition I and II (total 6 credit hours)
  • Core Area II: Natural Sciences including:
  • General Chemistry with lab (5 credit hours)
  • Microbiology with lab (5 credit hours)
  • Human Anatomy with lab (4-5 credit hours)
  • Human Physiology with lab (4-5 credit hours)
  • Core Area III: Social Sciences including American Federal Government (3 credit hours), US History (3 credit hours), Psychology (strongly recommended)
  • Core Area IV: Arts and Humanities including Artistic Forms (3 credit hours), Western Culture (6 credit hours), World Culture (3 credit hours)
  • Foreign language requirement satisfied via college or equivalent high school coursework
  • Core Area V: First Year Experience course (3 credit hours) and a minimum of one upper-division general education course (3000-4000 level, 3 credit hours)
  • At least 30 credit hours must be completed before application; all prerequisites completed with C or better prior to enrollment

Entrance Exams

  • No standardized entrance exam (TEAS/HESI) required

Application

  • NursingCAS application with $60 fee for first program
  • OUHSC supplemental application with no fee if NursingCAS applied first
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions sent to NursingCAS by application deadline
  • Proof of bachelor’s degree required by enrollment deadline
  • Waiver submission for third science prerequisite accepted for Summer 2026 and Fall 2026 applications if third science is in progress at application time

Clinical & Simulation Lab

  • Clinical courses integrated into curriculum starting in summer semester and continuing through program
