Mineral Area College
Mineral Area College (MAC) is located in Park Hills, Missouri. MAC was founded all the way back in 1922. It has gone through many changes since this time, but it has continued to provide great educational opportunities to students in the area. MAC serves around 4,000 students and has become an important part of the community. There are several different certificate programs at this school, as well as many traditional associate degree opportunities. Students often use this school as a transfer school, allowing them to transfer credits over to a larger four-year university. The school has specific partnerships with the Central Methodist University and the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
MAC has a nursing program that will allow prospective nursing students to pursue their goals. Students will be able to choose either the practical nursing program or the associate degree nursing program. The curriculum at this school is designed to prepare students for the rigors of working as a professional nurse in a variety of different medical settings. Those who have already achieved LPN status will be able to pursue advanced placement in the associate degree nursing program. Graduates of the nursing programs will become eligible to take the NCLEX-PN or NCLEX-RN licensure exams.
