Horry-Georgetown Technical College
Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is located in Conway, South Carolina and is part of the South Carolina Technical College System. The school was established back in 1966 and it now serves nearly 7000 students. This is the fourth largest technical college in the state of South Carolina. It offers students the chance to earn degrees and certificates from more than 65 different programs. There are also online classes that are available for students who would like to pursue them.
The HGTC nursing program gives students several opportunities. There is a practical nursing path and an associate’s degree in nursing path. Classroom experiences will be supplemented with laboratory practices and clinical experiences. The clinical experiences take place at area healthcare providers. Both the associate’s degree in nursing and the practical nursing programs are approved by the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation Board of Nursing and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
