Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) is located in Laredo, Texas. TAMIU is a state-supported university that was established back in 1969. The school serves well over 7500 students and offers more than 70 undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate degrees at TAMIU. This school is growing very fast and was even recognized for being among the nation’s fastest growing master’s degree institutions in the Almanac of Higher Education that was put out by the Chronicle of Higher Education. TAMIU continues to receive recognition for its overall excellence and commitment to providing a top-tier educational experience to all students. This school also has a robust athletic department and is part of the NCAA Division II.
The TAMIU nursing program gives students the opportunity to pursue bachelor’s degrees in nursing. As well as the traditional BSN program, TAMIU also has an advanced track for current RNs who want to earn their BSN. To qualify, an RN must already have an RN license in the state of Texas. The curriculum in this nursing program is designed to produce expert nurses. The nursing program at TAMIU has been approved by the Texas Board of Nursing and is also accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
