Southern University at Shreveport
Southern University at Shreveport (SUSLA) is located in Shreveport, Louisiana. The University was established in 1967 and it serves over 3,000 students currently. This is a historically black institution that has been serving the needs of the community for several decades. SUSLA gives students the best possible educational opportunities while seeking to prepare students to transfer to four-year schools. The goal of this school is to continue to enrich the community by providing top-notch educational academic programs. This school has many different associate degree opportunities in various areas of study.
The SUSLA nursing program is one that has always been held in high esteem. There are three different areas of study for prospective nursing students to consider. Students can pursue the certified nursing assistant program, the practical nursing program, or the associate degree nursing program. All programs are designed to give students the necessary foundation so that they can achieve continued success in the professional world.
Students will be fully prepared to take either the NCLEX-PN and NCLEX-RN licensure exams upon successful graduation from their respective programs.
