New Mexico State University-Carlsbad (NMSU Carlsbad) is located in Carlsbad, New Mexico. NMSU Carlsbad was established back in 1950 and currently serves a student population of around 2000. The associate’s degree in nursing program takes about two years on average and allows students to pursue careers as registered nurses (RNs). Students can complete one year of the program and exit with LPN eligibility or they can complete the entire two years to work toward RN status. The NMSU Carlsbad nursing program is specifically designed to help teach nurses to function in a variety of different healthcare settings. Students will be fully prepared to take the NCLEX-PN or NCLEX-RN licensure exam upon graduation. This program is approved by the New Mexico State Board of Nursing and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
