Central Oregon Community College
Central Oregon Community College (COCC) is located in Bend, Oregon. This community college was established back in 1949 and it now serves over 16,000 students. This is the oldest two-year college in the entire state of Oregon. It gives students the opportunity to earn various associate’s degrees as well as some certificates. There are a large number of different training programs that are designed to prepare a student to go right into a lucrative career opportunity. There are many four-year degrees that students can transfer their college credits over to, making it easy to continue on to work on earning a bachelor’s degree. COCC is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
The Central Oregon Community College nursing program gives students access to a practical nursing path and an associate’s degree in nursing path. There is also an advanced placement program for current LPNs who qualify and want to become a part of the RN program. COCC tiers their nursing program to allow students to enjoy the same curriculum for the first year regardless of what path they are taking. Students can choose to exit after the first year to seek licensure and become LPNs. Those who wish to continue on can pursue careers as RNs.
