Nursing Programs

The Alverno College Nursing program is intended to prepare students for careers in nursing with a combination of technical knowledge and abilities.

The curriculum is a rigorous program that train students for optimal success with in depth study and integration of theories and practical skills to prepare professionally competent nurses.

The program is designed to accommodate full time study or part time study options depending on the needs of the student.

Opportunities for clinical experience are guaranteed through the more than 60 clinical health care facilities and sites that Alverno is affiliated with. A student will have clinical components in five of the eight semesters of enrollment and clinical practice is guaranteed in each semester of the junior and senior years.

Clinical practice will also include an intense 16 hour a week experience opportunity working alongside a nursing professional in the last semester of enrollment.

All students will be assigned a professional advisor who will consult with the student about the academic program and help with planning the first year of study.   The student will be transferred to a Nursing faculty advisor in the second year.
